Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting with Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kazan Arno Scheyer. The key topic of the meeting was the discussion of issues related to further cooperation and prospects for the implementation of joint projects with Germany.
The Federal Republic of Germany has been one of the three most active partner countries since 2014. The parties are constantly expanding the scale of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, continue to improve the quality and level of interaction, and intensify activities to implement large projects.
In 2019, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and Germany amounted to US$ 1.5 billion, including exports of US$ 783 million and imports of US$ 696 million.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on mutually beneficial cooperation and deepening relations of comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction for the implementation of a number of joint large-scale events.
November 27 will see an expanded meeting of the Bureau of the Russian Engineering Union (SoyuzMash) and the League for Assistance to Defence Enterprises Association, chaired by Head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov. Discussion topic is “Youth Policy of the Russian Engineering Union: Development Vectors”.
Given the special epidemiological conditions, the meeting will be held in a videoconference format. The online event will be attended by Head of SoyuzMash, Head of the Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov and Chairman of the State Duma Commission for Defence Industry, President of the League for Assistance to Defence Enterprises Association Vladimir Gutenyov.
For more than ten years, the SoyuzMash and the League have been conducting a set of effective measures and programmes in the field of youth policies in accordance with the tasks set by the President of Russia: the implementation of ambitious engineering projects and participation in global leadership.
Special attention will be devoted to the large-scale Engineers of the Future youth forum, the All-Russian Forum entitled “Development of Science and Technology and Tasks of Global Leadership”, as well as the No-Turnstile Week event. The meeting of the Bureau will also consider issues of further cooperation between SoyuzMash, the League for Assistance to Defence Enterprises and the Tula Region within the framework of the signed agreement on holding the 10th International Engineers of the Future Youth Industrial Forum in Tula in 2021.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner visited the Kazan Cooperative Institute, where he inspected the Young Professionals competition sites in the Visual Merchandising skill and talked with the organisers and experts.
Since 2014, the Kazan Cooperative Institute has been an active participant in the WorldSkills professional contest among young people.
To prepare future winners at the Faculty of Secondary Vocational Education of the Kazan Cooperative Institute, there is a special showcase centre based on WorldSkills standards, opened in 2019 with the support from the Tatarstan Government.
Certified WS experts from among the institute’s teachers train participants, including juniors. Among others, Principal of the Kazan Cooperative Institute Alsou Nabieva is a certified WorldSkills Russia expert in the Visual Merchandising skill.
The Visual Merchandising is a science based on knowledge of human psychology, marketing, and advertising. The main task of a visual merchandiser is to attract a consumer with the use of original, creative means of visual demonstration, advertising new products, collections, and promotional products.
The team of the Kazan Cooperative Institute, as part of the Tatarstan team, has been winning the WorldSkills Russia contests since 2015.
The 8th meeting of the Belarusian-Tatarstan Working Group on Cooperation in Trade, Economy, Science and Technology was held today via videoconferencing.
The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairman of the Joint Working Group, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian part of the Working Group, Chairman of the Belneftekhim Concern Andrey Rybakov, as well as leading enterprises of Belarus and Tatarstan in the field of mechanical engineering and the development of industrial cooperation, petrochemicals, agriculture, ecology, science and innovation.
The meeting participants discussed the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached, as well as subsequent actions in order to deepen interaction in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan stressed that traditionally, the main areas of bilateral cooperation are mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering and production of special equipment, petrochemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and food supply.
The main exports of Tatarstan to Belarus are fuel, crude oil, and products of its distillation. From Belarus, the main imports are means of transport, vehicles, food products, and textiles. In 2019, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and Belarus amounted to US$ 1.04 billion, of which exports to Belarus accounted for US$ 819 million, and imports to Tatarstan, for US$ 201.4 million.
On November 24, the House of Friendship for Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organisations of the Navoiy Region opened its doors. Many are calling it simply “House of Friendship”.
The overhauled building houses Korean, Russian, Kazakh, Tatar-Bashkir, Azerbaijani, Karakalpak, and Turkmen national cultural centres, the Red Crescent Society, as well as over 30 non-governmental non-profit organisations.
The activists and members of the Board of the Nur Tatar-Bashkir National Cultural Centre of the Navoiy Region, like other centres, were very happy to finally find their “home” shortly before the New Year equipped with furniture and office appliances, and expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the regional officials.
On November 24, the Kazan Energy College hosted the 3rd Republic’s Sectoral Professional Skills Contest among young energy sector workers of Tatarstan in Electrical Installations skills.
The sectoral contest based on WorldSkills international standards is held in order to improve the level of training, disseminate advanced work methods, and popularise blue-collar jobs among young people.
As an honoured guest, the opening of the 3rd Republic’s Sectoral Professional Skills Contest was attended by Evgeniya Katkova, Head of the Department of Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
The contest task includes assembly of a power and lighting electrical equipment circuit and adjustment work after the participant has checked the assembled circuit.
All participants successfully coped with the contest task, which was assessed by certified and qualified experts who underwent special training.
At the award ceremony, Director of the Kazan Energy College Azat Khabibullin congratulated the participants with high professional skills and wished them further creative successes. The prize-winners were awarded diplomas, certificates of participation and memorable gifts, the rest of the participants were given certificates.
On November 26, 2020, the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev (KAI) will hold the All-Russian Job Fair entitled “Autumn 2020 digital” in an online format using a digital career environment for universities, students, and employers with various smart tools of “Facultetus” within the framework of the Career with Purpose 2020 Youth Forum.
As part of the job fair, employers will be able to post information about existing vacancies and view applicants’ CVs.

A leading manufacturer of the woodworking industry in Russia, Kastamonu, produced more than 1 million square metres of laminate for houses built under the renovation programme in Moscow.
Materials for finishing apartments under the Moscow renovation programme were produced at the Kastamonu plant located in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Tatarstan. The basis for the deliveries was a laminate of wear-resistance class 32, which fully meets all the necessary requirements and standards for use in residential premises. In total, in 2019 and 2020, the company produced more than 1 million square metres of laminate, which was used in the construction of renovation houses.
The laminates supplied by Kastamonu for the renovation programme are environmentally friendly, highly resistant to mechanical stress, including scratches, stains, and UV rays. In addition, the products have confirmed certificates for hygiene and compliance with formaldehyde emission standards. The company undergoes international audits on a quarterly basis for product compliance with these and many other environmental and quality standards.
In Russia, Kastamonu cooperates widely with major developers, federal and regional retail chains, and non-chain distributors.
The housing renovation programme in Moscow was approved on June 1, 2017 and provides for the resettlement of more than 350,000 apartments.
Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan held a videoconference meeting of the Joint Working Group for Economic, Industrial, Scientific, and Technology Cooperation between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic.
The meeting was attended by the co-chairs of the Joint Working Group, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Martina Tauberova, as well as enterprises from the Czech Republic and Tatarstan.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and Tatarstan, the progress in the implementation of joint Tatarstan-Czech projects, summed up the results of activities within the Joint Working Group, and identified promising areas for further bilateral cooperation.
Programmes for the development of the petrochemical, machine-building sectors, and innovative activities were named as promising areas of joint cooperation between the two republics.
Minister Karimov noted that Tatarstan enterprises are interested in developing cooperation with Czech business community (aviation, mechanical engineering, machine tool building, joint development, education, IT technology, internet trade, and supply of agricultural products).
On November 24, the Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs for Technical Regulation, Standardisation, and Conformity Assessment, jointly with the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, will organise a workshop entitled “Product Conformity Assessment: German Expertise”.
Within the event, the participants will discuss features of the system of technical regulation and product conformity assessment in Germany, a separate block will be devoted to control and monitoring of products on the EU and German markets.
The workshop speakers will include representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, the German Institute for Standardisation (DIN), and the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS).
