Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner took part in the Edelweiss Trading Company event dedicated to the Trade Workers’ Day. The event was also attended by CEO of Edelweiss Group Ramil Gainutdinov, CEO of Edelweiss Trading Company Amir Khairullin, Head of Administration of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of Kazan Marat Zakirov, Deputy Head of Administration of Sovetsky District of Kazan Airat Faizov, and Deputy Head of Administration of Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts of Kazan Ruslan Zabirov.
Trade is an important driver of the country’s economic growth, and the industry’s employees bear a great responsibility for satisfying the growing demand for various goods and services from the citizens of Tatarstan.
The period of countering the spread of the new coronavirus infection, which was associated with significant restrictions on entrepreneurial activity, was a serious test for trade workers. In this difficult period, the employees of the sector did their utmost to ensure that the shelves in the shops were not emptied and that the population was fully supplied with everything it needed.
German Lerner congratulated the staff of the Edelweiss retail chain with their professional holiday and presented departmental awards of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan for conscientious work and high professionalism.
POZIS (a member of the Russian Engineering Union) and the Kazan National Research Technological University have identified a number of promising areas for partner cooperation. Discussion of key issues took place during the working meeting headed by Acting Rector of KNRTU Yury Kazakov on the premises of POZIS.
POZIS and KNRTU have a long-term cooperation on staff training. At the moment, the company employs 206 graduates from KNRTU, 64 of whom are under 30. Many of them have become managers at various levels. This year, more than 15 students have undergone practical training at POZIS.
During the meeting, which took place in the format of a constructive dialogue, the participants discussed a number of promising areas related to further development of effective and mutually beneficial partnership.
The management of KNRTU gave a presentation on the university, its scientific potential, and innovative opportunities for solving key problems of high-tech enterprises. Problems of university training of specialists for the mechanical engineering industry were also touched upon.
As part of the visit, representatives of the university visited the company’s production facilities, including a logistics centre and a refrigerating plant where state-of-the-art POZIS-branded refrigeration equipment is produced.
It was also agreed to continue the dialogue on the basis of the university.
Shamil Bayramov, head of Tatarstan’s Regional Competence Centre summarised today the results of the Labour Productivity national project for H1 of this year.
The Regional Competence Centre was the first in Russia to be certified by the Federal Competence Centre in Labour Productivity, and at the end of Q2 it ranked third among Russia’s regional centres. The region was also the most active in implementing the national project, receiving an award in the relevant category at the Productivity 360 Federal Forum.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, for the moment 123 republic’s enterprises from such industries as mechanical engineering, transportation services, chemical and food industry, metallurgy, agriculture, construction and others are participants of the Labour Productivity project. By 2024, some 250 enterprises are expected to be involved in the implementation of the Labour Productivity national project with an annual increase in productivity of 5%.
When entering the Labour Productivity national project, the enterprises get free expert support, the opportunity to be trained in lean production at the Process Factory, training and assistance with entering new markets under the Export Growth Accelerator programme, the opportunity to get a preferential loan up to RUB 300 million at 1% per annum under the Industry Development Fund programme, etc.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov has a meeting today with a delegation of the Association of Turkish Machine Manufacturers (MİB).
The meeting was attended by Member of the Board of Directors at MİB, General Manager at Ermaksan Ahmet Özkayan, Secretary General at MİB Sefa Sadık Aytekin and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors at MİB, Deputy Chairman at Hürmak Plastik Burç Angan.
The Association consolidates more than 200 Turkish companies producing machinery and equipment for such sectors as food, automotive, wood processing, plastics, construction, and others. The main task of the organisation is to represent the interests of manufacturing companies among the authorities in the country as well as abroad, promote their products in foreign markets, assist in participation in exhibitions, analyse the machine building sector to provide unbiased information to the members of the association, and so on.
During the discussion, Minister Karimov noted that Tatarstan-Turkey cooperation is one of the priority areas of Tatarstan’s foreign economic activities. Enterprises of the two republics demonstrate continuous interest in developing cooperation. Also, Albert Karimov invited MİB representatives to visit Tatarstan in early December this year to take part in the Tatarstan Mechanical Engineering Forum.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner had a meeting today with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso to the Russian Federation Antoine Somda. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, German Lerner informed the foreign delegation on the industrial potential in Tatarstan and the instruments applied by the region for the implementation of technologies in the real sector of economy.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the promising forms and methods of cooperation between the republics in the field of industry and trade, evaluated opportunities for further development of relations and decided to explore options for mutually beneficial cooperation. The Tatarstan is ready to work with Burkina Faso in a number of areas, including the discussion of humanitarian, social, trade, and economic development initiatives.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Marat Minibaev had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea to the Russian Federation Dr Mandjou Kaké. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
The parties discussed a number of issues concerning the development of interaction between the republics. Special attention was given to promising areas of industrial cooperation, including projects in the fields of automotive industry, civil aviation, and oil and gas equipment production.
During the meeting, Marat Minibaev briefly presented the economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan, and also introduced the leading enterprises of petrochemical and mechanical engineering sectors of the Republic and major investment projects they implement.
The meeting concluded with a lively exchange of views on topical issues in the development of bilateral relations.
Prospects for cooperation with the Republic of Kenya were discussed today at a meeting between Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Marat Minibayev and a delegation from the Republic of Kenya headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Russian Federation Benson Henry Ouma Ogutu.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan. It was also attended by Deputy Head of Mission Amb. Joshua M. Mugodo, Consul General Mr. Maurice O.A. Okoth, Minister Counsellor Mrs. Winnie Mwanjala and others.
The parties discussed issues related to boosting trade and economic cooperation, as well as prospects for implementing joint projects.
During the meeting, Marat Minibaev expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Kenya for the interest in developing cooperation with Tatarstan and made a presentation of the republic’s industrial potential, spoke about the current status and prospects of bilateral cooperation in industrial cooperation, in particular in the development of energy cooperation between Tatarstan and the Republic of Kenya.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work to expand cooperation and provide mutual support in all areas of partnership.
Nefis Cosmetics, the country’s biggest producer of household chemicals has launched an investment project to increase its capacity of laundry gels production by 2.5 times, to 11,000 tonnes per month. This was announced by company’s Director General Dina Lavrikova during the presentation of new equipment and upgraded production lines at the plant. The event was also attended by Head of the Corporate Governance Dept. of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Regina Akhmetova and Russian State Duma Deputy Irek Boguslavsky.
The ramp-up of production capacity will be achieved by means of more modern and efficient equipment, as well as by retrofitting of existing lines. At the moment, the company is capable of producing up to 4,500 tonnes of laundry gels.
Nefis Cosmetics is in a continuous process of retrofitting and improvement of its production facilities. In 2020 alone, the company has implemented a project to increase the capacity of liquid detergents to 20,000 tonnes per month. A project to increase the capacity of synthetic detergents is also nearing completion.
Wages of workers are also increasing. Most of the increase is due to higher output, but for the positions not connected with production, the company decided to make indexation of wages. The average wage of the production personnel in 2021 is RUB 46,300, which is RUB 7,600 higher than in 2020.
Russian Helicopters, part of Rostec Corporation, has delivered two Mi-8MTV-1 and one Ansat helicopter manufactured by the Kazan Helicopters to the State Transport Leasing Company. The rotorcrafts will be handed over to three operators within the Civil Aviation and Air Navigation Services sub-programme of the Transport System Development national programme, implemented with the attraction of funds from the federal budget.
The helicopters will go to Krasnoyarsk region, Tver region, and Bashkortostan, where, due to their versatility, they will perform passenger and cargo transportation tasks as well as be used for patient transportation.
The Ansat has been placed at the disposal of RusAvia and will perform tasks in Bashkortostan. The helicopter is equipped with a medical module to monitor the patients’ condition and provide them with specialised medical assistance.
The first Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter has joined the air fleet of KrasAvia which performs scheduled and charter flights on socially important routes to the Far North from Krasnoyarsk and regional municipal centres. The second rotorcraft has been handed over to Converse Avia and will be based in Tver. The airline performs operations in the Ural, Central, Northwest, Southern, Volga, and Siberian Districts of the Russian Federation, as well as provides aviation services for UN missions.
On Thursday 29 July, a trade and economic mission of Kazakhstani producers took place as part of the 12th International Economic Summit Russia - Islamic World (KazanSummit 2021).
The official part of the event was attended by Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, Chairman of the Tatarstan CCI Shamil Ageyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Damu Business Development Fund Farhat Sarsekeyev, and Deputy Trade Representative of Kazakhstan in Russia Nurzhan Sadykov.
During the meeting, presentations of Kazakhstani enterprises were held. Tatarstan businessmen had an opportunity to see with their own eyes the products of potential partners and ask questions. Entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan presented the production capacity of their companies and discussed the needs of the Tatarstan market.
As German Lerner pointed out, the development of cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan is an important area of Tatarstan’s foreign economic activities. Over the last 5 years the Republic of Kazakhstan has been among the top 7 partners of Tatarstan in terms of foreign trade volumes.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic and the introduction of restrictive measures in 2020, the trade turnover indicator between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan increased by 14% compared to the figure for 2019 and amounted to US$ 630 million.
