Within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the International Bank for Economic Cooperation, a new industrial support institute has been formed and launched under a label of the International Foundation for Technology Development.

The Foundation’s activities are aimed at supporting projects for the transfer of advanced technology solutions and localisation of industries created on their basis. The Foundation has identified the following investment priorities: advanced mechanical engineering and instrument making; production of goods in socially significant industries, resource saving technologies.

The Foundation has started the selection of projects within the framework of the Direct Investment in the Russian Federation programme, which involves the provision of funding by entering into the capital of project companies.

Funding for the projects received from the Foundation within the framework of this programme can be used to purchase proprietary items (results of intellectual activities), specialised equipment from technology copyright holders, as well as the engineering required to adapt technologies.

In accordance with the decision of the Russian Federation Government, the Foundation is managed by the Agency for Technology Development.

Applications for projects are accepted through the official website of the Foundation: mftr.rf. Questions and suggestions on possible formats of cooperation with the Foundation can be sent to mftr@atr.gov.ru.

On August 13-14, Kazan will see the republic’s stage of the Best in Profession All-Russian Competition of Professional Skills in the category of Best Web and Multimedia Applications Developer, based on the International Competence Centre of the Kazan Technical School of Information Technologies and Communications.

The objective of the competition is to increase the prestige of highly skilled work, to promote achievements and best practices of the workers in this category. It is a remote format competition on an online platform that provides for the performance of contest tasks to test the theoretical knowledge of the contestants and their performance of practical tasks.

The winner of the competition will participate in the federal stage of the Best in Profession All-Russian Competition in the category of Best Web and Multimedia Applications Developer. The prize value of the Best in Profession competition is RUB 300,000 to those who took first places, RUB 200,000 to those who took second places and RUB 100,000 to those who took third places.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov visited a Process Factory that was created within the framework of the Increasing Labour Productivity and Supporting Employment national project.

The Process Factory is a training production site where participants gain practical experience in real production processes in the use of lean manufacturing and production optimisation tools, as well as understand how improvements affect the operational and economic performance of production.

In lean manufacturing, the process is organised in such a way as to ensure the optimal arrangement of equipment and the sequence of raw materials and feedstock passing through it in order to minimise the time and money spent on manufacturing products.

The Process Factory was created on the basis of the Tatarstan’s Regional Centre of Competence in Labour Productivity (Centre for Energy-Saving Technologies of Tatarstan under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers)) and passed certification by the Federal Centre of Competence in the Field of Labour Productivity on July 30, 2020.

The objective of the Increasing Labour Productivity national project is to ensure, by 2024, the growth rate of labour productivity at midsize and large enterprises in the basic non-resource sectors of the economy to at least 5% per year.

On August 7, the launching ceremony of the first passenger ship in Russia to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) was held in the city of Zelenodolsk. The vessel was built by the Zelenodolsk Shipyard, a member of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, as part of a pilot project for the creation of LNG-powered river vessels in cooperation with Gazprom. Its designer was the Zelenodolsk Design Bureau.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Armaments of the Russian Navy Igor Mukhametshin, Deputy Commander for Armaments of the Caspian Flotilla Igor Smirnov, Director of Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Equipment Department at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Boris Kabakov, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, and others.

The Chaika LNG tourist ship was laid down in February 2020. Its length is 58.8 m, breadth, 10.8 m, and passenger capacity, up to 176 people. The vessel is equipped with latest air conditioning and heating systems, and an Audioguide system in five languages. It also has a panoramic view and the ability to cruise under low bridges.

This is the first Russia’s experience in building a LNG-powered vessel using domestic components. To use liquefied natural gas as fuel, the ship is equipped with 2 cryogenic tanks, 6.7 m3 each. The LNG supply for refuelling the vessel will be provided by Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo.

The Enterprise of Labour Valour project was launched in Kazan to honour the labour feats of citizens in Tatarstan, to celebrate the contribution of each enterprise to the cause of the Great Victory. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.

Commemorative plaques will be installed at the entrance to the buildings of 10 industrial enterprises in Kazan. Each plague will contain brief information about the activities of the enterprise during the War.

“During the Great Patriotic War, our factories manufactured strategically important products for the front. Today, it is important for us to perpetuate the memory of the contribution made by Kazan industrial enterprises to our common victory”, said Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

On July 2, 2020, following the meeting of the Victory Russian Organising Committee, the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the honorary title of the City of Labour Valour to Kazan, among other 18 cities of the country.

Enterprise of Labour Valour plaques are planned to be placed at the Kazan Optical- Mechanical Plant, the Kazan Electrotechnical Plant, the Kazan State-Owned Gunpowder Plant, as well as the Kazan Helicopters, Elecon, Vacuummash, the Kazan Aviation Plant, the Chemical Industry State Research Institute, the Kazan Engine-Building Production Association, and the Kazan GiproNIIaviaprom.

On August 3, the Kazan City Executive Committee and Novaya Tura Technopolis held meetings with representatives of shopping centres and markets in Tatarstan on the topic: “Mechanism of Interaction between Government Bodies in the Issues on Mandatory Marking of Goods”. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, Deputy Head of the Kazan City Executive Committee Ildar Shakirov, Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service Office in Tatarstan Andrey Nikitashin, as well as representatives of Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in Tatarstan and the Chestny Znak company.

As a reminder, from July 1, 2020, the production, imports, wholesale and retail sales of unmarked footwear is prohibited. It becomes mandatory for market participants to submit information about a product put into circulation into the Chestny Znak (“Honest Mark”) marking system. All participants in the turnover are involved in the marking process: manufacturers, importers, retailers, and wholesalers.

Market participants were initially given a certain period to carry out marking of residues and begin a full-fledged circulation of only-marked goods. Each market participant should connect to the Chestny Znak marking system, learn how to receive marking codes and mark all footwear products.

After September 1, the sales of unmarked footwear is completely prohibited.

On July 30, the first meeting of the working group on cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary took place. The working group from Tatarstan was chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, and from Hungary, by Consul General of Hungary in Kazan Adam Stifter.

During the conference, issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation were touched upon, in particular, those in the field of trade and economic cooperation; the importance of further cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries was also discussed.

Among the promising areas of trade, economic, investment, scientific and technology cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary, German Lerner noted the further development of cooperation ties in the field of manufacturing industry, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, as well as in the field of information technology.

At the end of 2019, the foreign trade turnover of Tatarstan with Hungary amounted to more than USD 530 million. Compared to 2018, the growth was over 15%. Hungary ranks 8th in Tatarstan’s foreign trade turnover.

Within the framework of their working visit to Tatarstan, the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar visited KAMAZ. The main purpose of the visit was the development of strategic cooperation between KAMAZ and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The delegation was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. The honoured guests visited the engine plant and the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Centre, where they were shown a new model range of KAMAZ trucks.

Ford Sollers and the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan have a long-term relationship, during which the ambulances based on Ford Transit have proven themselves to be excellent. The first order from the Ministry came in 2012, and over the past 3 years, Ford Sollers has produced about 300 ambulances for the needs of the region. The choice in favour of Ford Transit was made owing to the high reliability of the vehicles, their full adaptation to operation in Russian conditions, their opportunity of equipping in accordance with any customer’s needs, as well as the low cost of service and the availability of a developed dealer network in the region.

The vehicles are based on a front-wheel drive all-metal Ford Transit van with a long wheelbase, a 2.2 L (125 hp) diesel engine, and a 6-speed manual transmission.

Class B ambulances based on Ford Transit are equipped under uр-to-date requirements of the Russian Ministry of Health. The complete set of the vehicle includes: a lung ventilator, a defibrillator, an electrocardiograph with microprocessor control and automatic ECG processing with the possibility of remote data transmission, a wheelchair for transporting patients, and other necessary equipment. The hi-tech equipment of the vehicles is complemented by the GLONASS satellite navigation system and tablet computers. The ambulances have all the conditions for resuscitation and intensive care.
