Issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary discussed in the Ministry

On July 30, the first meeting of the working group on cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary took place. The working group from Tatarstan was chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, and from Hungary, by Consul General of Hungary in Kazan Adam Stifter.

During the conference, issues of further development of mutually beneficial cooperation were touched upon, in particular, those in the field of trade and economic cooperation; the importance of further cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries was also discussed.

Among the promising areas of trade, economic, investment, scientific and technology cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary, German Lerner noted the further development of cooperation ties in the field of manufacturing industry, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, as well as in the field of information technology.

At the end of 2019, the foreign trade turnover of Tatarstan with Hungary amounted to more than USD 530 million. Compared to 2018, the growth was over 15%. Hungary ranks 8th in Tatarstan’s foreign trade turnover.
