New institute for support of industry formed and launched

Within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the International Bank for Economic Cooperation, a new industrial support institute has been formed and launched under a label of the International Foundation for Technology Development.

The Foundation’s activities are aimed at supporting projects for the transfer of advanced technology solutions and localisation of industries created on their basis. The Foundation has identified the following investment priorities: advanced mechanical engineering and instrument making; production of goods in socially significant industries, resource saving technologies.

The Foundation has started the selection of projects within the framework of the Direct Investment in the Russian Federation programme, which involves the provision of funding by entering into the capital of project companies.

Funding for the projects received from the Foundation within the framework of this programme can be used to purchase proprietary items (results of intellectual activities), specialised equipment from technology copyright holders, as well as the engineering required to adapt technologies.

In accordance with the decision of the Russian Federation Government, the Foundation is managed by the Agency for Technology Development.
