Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mehriddin Khairiddinov. The meeting was also attended by representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Kazan Radik Vakhitov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Acting Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of Tatarstan Elmira Zaripova, and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his Uzbekistani colleagues for their attention and support in the development of cooperation aimed at strengthening relations between Russia and Uzbekistan. The Tatarstan President recalled that active work is underway with leading Tatarstan’s companies: KAMAZ is expanding truck supplies to Uzbekistan, Tatneft also operates in the Uzbekistan market with its multi-fuel filling stations, and cooperation has been established with the first rubber plant in Uzbekistan.
The issues of the labour market and labour migration were discussed as well. Uzbekistan ranks first in terms of the number of its citizens arriving in Tatarstan. In 2017, the Russian Government and the Government of Uzbekistan signed an Agreement on the organised recruitment and attraction of Uzbekistani citizens to carry out temporary labour activities in the Russian Federation. Tatarstan was chosen as the territory for testing the pilot project to develop the mechanism of organised labour migrant recruitment, and the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Protection of Tatarstan is defined as the responsible authority.
Today, a videoconference meeting in the Hour with Trade Representative format was held between Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner and Trade Representative of Russia in the Kingdom of Morocco Artyom Tsinamdzgvrishvili. The event was attended by representatives of seven industrial enterprises of the republic, who spoke about their projects. During the meeting, the participants also discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation between companies of Tatarstan and Morocco.
“Morocco is a promising partner for Tatarstan. To date, the potential for bilateral cooperation has not been yet revealed. The presence of this potential is evidenced by the considerable interest expressed by the republic’s enterprises in the development of business ties with partners from Morocco”, said Deputy Minister Lerner in his welcoming speech.
Later, German Lerner presented the Made in Tatarstan platform, which has been implemented in the republic since 2016 as an information portal to present the industrial potential of Tatarstan and promote its enterprises in foreign markets.
In conclusion, Artyom Tsinamdzgvrishvili expressed his readiness to assist the enterprises of Tatarstan in entering the Moroccan market in all areas of activities.
On September 24, 2020, a discussion between Representative of Tatarstan Aidar Akhtareyev and Deputy Khokim of the Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan Jamshid Abdusalamov was held in the Khokimiyat of the Tashkent Region.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and the Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan, based on the Agreement Between the Government of Tatarstan and the Khokimiyat of the Tashkent Region on the Implementation of International and Foreign Economic Relations in Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technology, Social and Cultural Spheres dated May 28, 2018.
In particular, the issues included the progress of the project on the creation of an industrial park in the Tashkent Region jointly with Technopolis Himgrad, the construction of a chain of Tatneft multi-fuel filling stations in the Tashkent Region, the joint cooperation of design and construction organisations, as well as the implementation of the items in the Action Plan to the above Agreement between the Government of Tatarstan and the Khokimiyat of the Tashkent Region.
The parties agreed that the global coronavirus pandemic and the quarantine measures taken in the countries slowed down the implementation of the scheduled projects. It was announced that both parties are interested in further intensifying work in these areas, as well as in joint projects in other areas of cooperation.
The Action Plan for the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Government of the Republic of Altai on trade and economic, scientific, technology and socio-cultural cooperation was signed today in the Kazan Kremlin. The document was signed by the Tatarstan President and the Head of the Republic of Altai.
The Altai delegation headed by Oleg Khorokhordin is in Kazan on a working trip. The delegation members visited the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, where they explored the trade, economic, and investment potential of the region, and appreciated the public spaces of Kazan, in particular, the Old Tatar Settlement and the Lake Kaban embankment.
“Our cooperation with Tatarstan is developing consistently”, said Oleg Khorokhordin. Among the most interesting areas for his region, he named the interaction in tourism sphere and popularisation of tourist destinations, as well as cooperation and adoption of experience in the creation and development of special economic zones. In addition, activities in the fields of environmental preservation, creation of industrial parks and e-commerce sites also seem promising.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
On September 21, the closing ceremony of the 8th National Young Professionals Competition (WorldSkills Russia 2020) was held in Moscow, with participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova, where she noted that the WorldSkills movement has firmly entered the life of Russians and became part of the national projects such as Education, Demography, and Labour Productivity.
Within the ceremony, the leaders of the Russian Regions’ Cup rating were announced in the standings of teams from regions of Russia and educational organisations, where Tatarstan was awarded a diploma and a 1st Degree Cup.
In the finals of the WorldSkills Russia 2020, a total of 206 young professionals took part from the Tatarstan team, competing in 158 skills. The republic’s team won 38 gold, 25 silver, and 39 bronze medals. The competitions were also held in 54 skills assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, of which the team win 11 golds, 7 silvers, 9 bronzes, and 13 medallions of excellence.
The finals of the 8th National Young Professionals Competition lasted from September 6 to 21, 2020. For the first time in the WorldSkills history, the event was held both in distance and face-to-face formats. All contestants competed on the basis of specialised skill centres. The participants’ performances were also assessed using remote and online technologies.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting with members of the delegation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Within the framework of their programme, members of the DRC delegation visited the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency to attend a presentation of the republic’s economic potential, studied the activities of the Idea Innovation Technopark, visited Eidos-Medicine and Eidos-Robotics centres and the IT Park.
Having greeted the guests, the Tatarstan President said that the region highly appreciates the opportunities of cooperation between Tatarstan and the DRC within the framework of friendly Russian-Congolese relations. This year Russia and Congo celebrate the 60th anniversary since establishment of diplomatic relations.
In general, Rustam Minnikhanov said that there is great potential for developing ties with Congolese companies in such areas as oil refining and petrochemicals, energy, mechanical engineering, automotive sectors, component production, IT and other high technologies, medicine and pharmaceuticals, agribusiness.
In turn, representatives of Congo stated during the meeting that they are ready for close cooperation and expressed interest in studying the experience of Tatarstan as a region of Russia in the creation and development of special economic zones and in the provision of tax benefits to resident companies.
On September 22, the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the event entitled “Days of Municipalities in the Republic of Tatarstan: Drozhzhanovsky Municipal District”.
This event is aimed at revealing the economic potential of the district, establishing business contacts between entrepreneurs and investors, as well as authorised representatives of Tatarstan in the CIS countries and business communities of foreign states.
Entrepreneurs and manufacturers of the district will be able to present their projects in order to find new sales channels for their products. The lobby of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host a selling exhibition of the goods manufactured in the territory of the Drozhzhanovsky District.

From September 21 to 26, the Kazan State Power Engineering University will host the International Scientific Workshop named after Yu. N. Rudenko “Methodological Problems in Reliability Study of Large Energy Systems”. The event brings together experts in reliability of various energy sectors, including those from alternative sources, Wind Power and Solar Power Engineering.
The topic of the Workshop’s 92nd meeting is “Reliability of Energy Supply to Consumers in the Context of Their Digitalisation”. A total of 170 participants (136 of them in person) from nine Russian regions, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as from the CIS countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan) were announced for the event.
The Workshop was established at the Melentiev Energy Systems Institute of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and bears the name of its organiser, Academician of the RAS, a world-renowned scientist in the field of power, the founder of reliability theory in energy Yuri Rudenko.
Organisers are the Melentiev Energy Systems Institute and the Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSPEU) with the participation from the St. Petersburg Power Engineering Institute for Advanced Training.

Throughout the history of our country, the selfless work of the best experts in the industry has ensured the creation of weapons that are superior to foreign counterparts. We are rightfully proud that during the Great Patriotic War, Tatarstan was a largest manufacturer of military equipment and products.
Today, the workforce of the republic’s defence enterprises carries on the honoured traditions of their predecessors, and increase the glory of Russian weapons. The enterprises of the republic’s defence industry are upgrading production, developing new models of competitive products, training highly qualified personnel, doing everything necessary to reliably protect and strengthen the defence capabilities of our Motherland.
I am confident that using the accumulated scientific and technical potential and introducing advanced technologies, the developers and creators of domestic military equipment and weapons will successfully cope with the implementation of the tasks facing the industry. I wish current and retired employees of the republic’s defence industry health, prosperity, and new achievements for the benefit of Tatarstan and Russia!
