On September 21, the closing ceremony of the 8th National Young Professionals Competition (WorldSkills Russia 2020) was held in Moscow, with participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova, where she noted that the WorldSkills movement has firmly entered the life of Russians and became part of the national projects such as Education, Demography, and Labour Productivity.
Within the ceremony, the leaders of the Russian Regions’ Cup rating were announced in the standings of teams from regions of Russia and educational organisations, where Tatarstan was awarded a diploma and a 1st Degree Cup.
In the finals of the WorldSkills Russia 2020, a total of 206 young professionals took part from the Tatarstan team, competing in 158 skills. The republic’s team won 38 gold, 25 silver, and 39 bronze medals. The competitions were also held in 54 skills assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, of which the team win 11 golds, 7 silvers, 9 bronzes, and 13 medallions of excellence.
The finals of the 8th National Young Professionals Competition lasted from September 6 to 21, 2020. For the first time in the WorldSkills history, the event was held both in distance and face-to-face formats. All contestants competed on the basis of specialised skill centres. The participants’ performances were also assessed using remote and online technologies.
