On February 22, the Representative of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan Aydar Ahtareev had a meeting with Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov. During the meeting, the status and prospects of trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan were discussed, as well as the progress of joint projects agreed during the visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Uzbekistan in 2019.

Aydar Ahtareev and Adkham Ikramov discussed participation of Tatarstan’s delegation in the upcoming Innoprom. Big Industrial Week in Uzbekistan International Exhibition, which will be held in Tashkent on 5-7 April 2021. For its part, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed its willingness to provide every assistance in holding business meeting of Tatarstan and Uzbekistan entrepreneurs within the framework of the exhibition.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

The foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan amounted to USD 156,484,100. Exports from Tatarstan to Uzbekistan totalled USD 126,977,900; imports from Uzbekistan to Tatarstan were USD 29,506,200.

The Final Collegium of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan was held at the Kazan Motor-Building Production Association. It was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mikhail Ivanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, etc.

The decline in the republic’s industrial production index compared to 2019, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, was due to objective reasons and falls within the framework of general statistics. He also noted that the pandemic is on the wane and called to build up the production figures.

Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, stressed that the task for the current year is to bring the industrial production index to 105.2%. The President pointed out the need to develop mechanical engineering in small municipalities of the republic.

The panel discussed the development of exports and support for industrial enterprises in the region. Today, crude oil and oil products account for 69% of the republic’s export structure. A course has been taken to boost exports of machinery, petrochemicals, and agro-industrial products.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mikhail Ivanov noted that the support by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade of enterprises in Tatarstan through subsidies amounted to over RUB 36 billion in 2020; this is one and a half times more than this figure in 2019.

On 20 February 2021 at 11:00, AO Kazan Motor-Building Production Association will host a meeting of the Collegium of Tatarstan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade entitled “Industrial and Consumer Market Development in Tatarstan in 2020, Tasks for 2021, Reserves for Economic Growth”.

The event will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, members of the Tatarstan Government, heads of enterprises, representatives of federal and republic’s ministries, agencies and organisations.

An exhibition of Tatarstan’s companies will be arranged before the start of the Collegium session. In addition, there will be the inauguration of a gas-turbine power unit built at KMPA, which will supply heat and electricity not only to the company itself but also to external customers. The developer and manufacturer of the Volga GTEU-18 is AO KMPA.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov arrived in Tatarstan today on a working visit. Accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister Borisov visited the Alabuga-Volokno carbon fibre production plant in SEZ Alabuga and held a meeting on composite materials import substitution in the civil aircraft industry and other industries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of import substitution of composite materials for civil aviation industry and other industrial sectors.

At present, Alabuga-Volokno produces carbon fibres (CF) in different nominal values from 3K (3000 elementary fibres in a bundle) to 50K with the strength of up to 4.9 GPa and elastic modulus of up to 260 GPa. The traditional areas of composite materials application are aircraft engineering, shipbuilding, energy and machine building. However, composites also have a place in promising industries.

The meeting was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Oleg Bocharov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Military Industrial Commission Andrey Elchaninov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Director General of SEZ Alabuga Timur Shagivaleyev, and others.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov took part in a meeting on socio-economic development of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District.  The meeting was held today by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov as part of his working trip to Nizhnekamsk.

The President noted that Nizhnekamsk District is one of the Tatarstan’s lead municipalities: large investment projects are implemented, business infrastructure is developed, and a lot of work is carried out under targeted programmes. At the same time, he pointed out the need to develop the agro-industrial complex, improve the demographic situation, and resolve staffing problems in medical institutions.

“These are issues that require systemic solutions. We should see what problems exist on this territory and what reserves are there to solve them”, the President said.

Next, representatives of republic’s ministries reported on the current situation in the Nizhnekamsk District in economy, agriculture, construction, road facilities, healthcare, education, environment, and labour market.

A gathering of the republic’s working youth opened today in Kazan. The large-scale event is held at the Volga Youth Centre in the format of a workshop. The event was held within the framework of preparations to the 9th Our Time - Beznen Zaman Republic’s Annual Open TV Festival of Working Youth Creativity with support from Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

A gathering of working youth will be organised for potential participants of the festival, employees of the companies, organisations, and institutions which have not participated in the Our Time - Beznen Zaman festival before.

The youth festival will last until February 21. Today is an introductory day for participants, acquaintance with organisers, members of jury, teachers and previous prize-winners of the Our Time - Beznen Zaman festival. Since tomorrow, master classes of stage masters will begin.

The festival is aimed at popularising blue-collar and white-collar jobs and uncovering the creative potential of working youth. It is a socially significant project that has no commercial purposes.

Winners and laureates of the festival are awarded with cups, diplomas, memorable gifts, and cash prizes. The Grand Prix winner is awarded with a diploma, a challenge cup of the Tatarstan President, and a cash prize.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov paid a visit to the Moscow Polytechnic University as part of the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Within their working trip to Moscow, the Tatarstan delegation visited the Engineering Development Centre and design and production laboratories for sports cars, machining processes, and composite materials. In addition, representatives of the University administration acquainted President Minnikhanov with activities of the Industrial Design Scientific and Technical Centre.

A meeting with University’s Principal Vladimir Miklushevsky also took place, where issues of cooperation in scientific and educational spheres were discussed.

As reported earlier, over 100 students from Tatarstan are currently studying at the Moscow Polytechnic University.

The Moscow Polytechnic University has been closely cooperating with Tatarstan in a number of areas. These include cooperation with major industrial enterprises, such as KAMAZ, Kazan Helicopters, etc., as well as with the Innopolis University. As part of the volunteer movement, Moscow Polytech closely cooperates with ANO Directorate for Sports and Social Projects.

In early 2021, Aconit-Ural, the borrower of IDF (Industry Development Fund managed by VEB.RF) produced the first batch of rollers used in industrial conveyors for transporting copper, stone, coal, and other cargo at a new plant in Yelabuga.

At the end of 2019, the IDF provided the company with a soft loan under the Development Projects programme of RUB 250 million at 1% per annum. The project’s total budget exceeded RUB 700 million, with the commissioned line capacity of 1 million products per year.

The new production facility has a high level of automation through the use of latest process equipment. This allows reducing the impact of the human factor, to increase efficiency and to ensure 100% quality control of products.

Previously, rollers used for assembly of the conveyors were mainly of foreign origin, German and Chinese. Thanks to the launch of the new facility, the share of imported components will drop to about 60%.

The first batch of rollers was supplied to the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, one of the largest steel makers in Russia. The products will also be supplied to the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, Severstal, NLMK, coal mining companies in Kuzbass, mining, gold mining, metal, and construction industries.

The Sustainable Energy and Power Engineering 2021 international symposium (SUSE-2021) will be held on February 18 to 20 at the Kazan State Power Engineering University.

The event will take place in distance and face-to-face formats. A total of 288 applications have been submitted for presentations at the event, with more than 800 participants. About 40 university representatives will take part in the Symposium in the face-to-face format. Participant countries are 14 regions of Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Bulgaria, etc.

The speakers will present scientific and applied research in the field of energy and outline the prospects for international cooperation. The Symposium will provide a forum to discuss the main challenges faced by the energy sector to further develop practical solutions for hydrogen and renewable energy, energy sustainability, and power engineering,

The Symposium will include the first meeting of the Consortium for Technical Education of Russia and Kazakhstan, a public organisation that will unite technical universities of the two countries to become an effective platform in the field of professional higher education in technical fields within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Consortium’s work will be coordinated by the KSPEU.

A Ford Transit van was awarded a diploma at the prestigious All-Russian 100 Best Goods of Russia contest in the Capital Goods category and can now be awarded the 100 Best Goods of Russia mark.

The 100 Best Goods of Russia is a nationwide award organised by Rosstandart and the Academy of Quality Problems, an interregional public organisation. The aim of the contest is to support processes to improve the quality and competitiveness of domestic goods and services. The contest was held this year for the 23rd time.

The Ford Transit mobile vending vehicle was nominated for the contest by Sollers Ford’s partner, the ST Alabuga bodybuilder, which directly builds special versions of Ford Transit-based vehicles.

The truck is a special version built on the extra-long chassis of Ford Transit with GVW of 4700 kg. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine rated at 155 hp, rear-wheel drive and manual 6-speed transmission. The large interior volume of the van allows a flexible use of working space. The vehicle is equipped with standard and refrigerated cabinets, shelves, containers, a sink with an autonomous water supply system, a tilting counter table, and a protective mobile “visor” outside the vehicle. At the customer’s request, the list of equipment can be modified to suit the purpose and function of the truck.
