The Final Collegium of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan was held at the Kazan Motor-Building Production Association. It was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mikhail Ivanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, etc.
The decline in the republic’s industrial production index compared to 2019, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, was due to objective reasons and falls within the framework of general statistics. He also noted that the pandemic is on the wane and called to build up the production figures.
Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, stressed that the task for the current year is to bring the industrial production index to 105.2%. The President pointed out the need to develop mechanical engineering in small municipalities of the republic.
The panel discussed the development of exports and support for industrial enterprises in the region. Today, crude oil and oil products account for 69% of the republic’s export structure. A course has been taken to boost exports of machinery, petrochemicals, and agro-industrial products.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mikhail Ivanov noted that the support by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade of enterprises in Tatarstan through subsidies amounted to over RUB 36 billion in 2020; this is one and a half times more than this figure in 2019.
