Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Alabuga Polytechnic Educational Centre today.

The Alabuga Polytechnic Targeted Production and Education Centre provides practical training for students in four of the most popular areas for Alabuga SEZ residents: laboratory chemical analysis; mechatronics and industrial robotics; electrical engineering; and industrial automation.
Timur Shagivaleyev, Director General of the Alabuga SEZ, gave explanations during the introduction to the Alabuga Polytech.
The students are taught practical skills by highly qualified tutors, acting engineers from resident companies. Practice-oriented training is achieved, among other things, by involving students in practice at the engineering infrastructure facilities of Alabuga SEZ starting from the second half-year of the first year of study.
The main vector of mastering professional skills is WorldSkills standards.

Order by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade No. 1831 of May 19, 2021 approved the organisation of work to evaluate the performance of executive authorities in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the sphere of manufacturing industry.
The performance evaluation of regional executive authorities in industry will allow for greater involvement of constituent entities in stimulating industrial development, while regions will be able to identify their growth points, actively use government support measures, and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the ongoing regional policies for developing industrial potential and attracting investment.
The effectiveness is assessed for 4 blocks: region’s economic development, its regulatory framework and regional support measures, business activities, as well as interaction with the IDF and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
In addition, the evaluation results will help identify best practices in the implementation of regional industrial policies with the opportunities for their further transfer and exchange of experience.
“With the aid of this system, we will be able to encourage regions not only to maintain their current industrial potential, but to work out promising areas for their development in more detail as well”, said Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

Two strategic directions are being pursued at the Kazan Helicopters to improve the company’s efficiency and labour productivity. The first one is the development of process control technologies. The second one is the development of production technologies. Systemic work to implement process control technologies began as early as 2010-2011. Back then, the company started testing Lean production tools within a pilot project to implement them in the tail section of the main rotor blades. Subsequently, these undertakings expanded into a full-fledged project to develop the production system for the entire blade production in accordance with Lean principles. The project lasted about a year and resulted in a significant economic effect amounting to about RUB 45 million.
The plant is carrying out a large-scale upgrade of its production facilities, and has already invested more than RUB 11 billion in retrofitting. In doing this, production under new technologies and on new premises is organised with the use of tools for analysis and construction of optimal flows. Only such joint implementation of new process control and production technologies gives the best synergetic effect.
In 2019, Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters Holding was among the enterprises in Tatarstan that launched the Labour Productivity and Employment Support national project. At the plant, together with FCC, labour productivity was improved at the project of Production of Composite Blades for Mi-38/Mi-171A2.
