28 May 2021, Friday

Order by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade No. 1831 of May 19, 2021 approved the organisation of work to evaluate the performance of executive authorities in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the sphere of manufacturing industry.

The performance evaluation of regional executive authorities in industry will allow for greater involvement of constituent entities in stimulating industrial development, while regions will be able to identify their growth points, actively use government support measures, and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the ongoing regional policies for developing industrial potential and attracting investment.

The effectiveness is assessed for 4 blocks: region’s economic development, its regulatory framework and regional support measures, business activities, as well as interaction with the IDF and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

In addition, the evaluation results will help identify best practices in the implementation of regional industrial policies with the opportunities for their further transfer and exchange of experience.

“With the aid of this system, we will be able to encourage regions not only to maintain their current industrial potential, but to work out promising areas for their development in more detail as well”, said Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
