Kazan DSK, thanks to its participation in the Labour Productivity national project, has received a preferential loan for the retrofitting of its prefabricated reinforced concrete production. The project budget exceeds RUB 94 million. The total capacity of precast concrete parts production is expected to increase by 30%, from 100,000 to 130,000 cubic metres per year. The enterprise from Tatarstan has been increasing its own efficiency with the support from the Federal Competence Centre since 2019.

The budget of the project consists of three parts: RUB 52.3 million was provided by the Russia’s IDF, RUB 22.4 million, by the Tatarstan Investment Venture Fund, and about RUB 20 million, by the enterprise itself. It is planned that equipment upgrades will increase labour productivity by 30%, the cost of production will be reduced by 5%, and the level of product localisation will be 100%. The manufactured products will be used for construction of residential buildings in Kazan.

With the support from Federal Competence Centre experts, the company has achieved serious results in six months: the process running time for reinforced concrete items using a Sommer line has been reduced by 3-fold, work-in-progress has been reduced 5-fold, and output has increased by 60%. This resulted from changes in process from rebar welding to bonding in the pilot production line.

In the course of the project, 20 experts of the Kazan House-Building Plant gained new knowledge and experience. The rest of the employees are being trained in lean production tools by internal trainers of the enterprise.

Applications for the Engineer of the Year 2021 contest continues to be accepted in Tatarstan. The contest is held with the support from the Tatarstan President in order to raise public awareness, encourage and spread positive experience of the best republic’s engineers, and increase the attractiveness of engineering work among young people. This is the second time the contest is being held; more than 250 applications from various republic’s enterprises were submitted for the first time.

The contest has three age-based divisions: Future Engineers (engineering students); Youth, Success, Perspective (engineers under the age of 35 years inclusive); Experience, Achievements, Competence (engineers over the age of 35 years).

The contest is held in 12 categories broken down by republic’s industries and will involve 2 stages. The correspondence stage is the application collection campaign and the work of the contest’s expert commission on selecting applications for participation in the on-site stage. The on-site stage is a two-day travelling workshop, which includes master classes, training, testing, and project defences.

The contest winners will be awarded during a festive ceremony with the participation of the Tatarstan President at the end of the year.

The contest may be attended by university students receiving an engineering degree and engineers already working at Tatarstan enterprises: design engineers, production engineers contributing to the development of production processes, lines, etc.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Omsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Burkov have signed an action plan to implement the interregional agreement. The ceremony was held today at the Kazan Kremlin.

Governor Burkov has arrived in Kazan to participate in the 9th Russia, a Country of Sports international sports forum.

President Minnikhanov thanked the Omsk Oblast delegation for visiting Tatarstan. He stressed that the main areas of joint work between the regions have been shaped in recent years. The development of bilateral ties is facilitated by a direct flight between Kazan and Omsk.

The Tatarstan President stressed the positive changes in trade relations. Omsk Oblast buys trucks, special vehicles and buses, chemical products, fuel and fuel oil, glass, medicines and foodstuffs from Tatarstan. Tatarstan traditionally purchases tyres, petrol, motor oils, synthetic rubbers. Rustam Minnikhanov added that Tatarstan enterprises are interested in further developing cooperation with the Omsk Oblast.

The Tatarstan President also thanked the Governor for his support to the Tatars living in the Omsk Oblast. These are about 42,000 people.

For helping to strengthen interregional ties, Rustam Minnikhanov presented Aleksandr Burkov with a medal in honour of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR.

Head of the Republic of Khakassia Valentin Konovalov had a meeting today with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The meeting took place at the Kazan Kremlin. The Khakassia delegation has arrived in Kazan to participate in the 9th Russia, a Country of Sports international forum.

President Minnikhanov particularly praised the efforts of Khakassia authorities in preserving historical and cultural treasures. He noted that Tatarstan was also engaged in extensive work in this area and suggested developing exchange programmes.

Trade relations between the regions are developing on the basis of the Cooperation Agreement signed in 2016. Today, Tatarstan sells spare parts for KAMAZ trucks, diesel fuel and petrol, tyres, nitrogen fertilisers, medical tools and equipment, medicines, and various food products. In turn, Khakassia supplies bentonite powder, coal, ready-to-cook meat products, etc. According to the President, there is every opportunity of increasing trade volumes.

Rustam Minnikhanov and Valentin Konovalov also stressed the prospects for cooperation in developing a comfortable urban environment, digitalisation, education and science, as well as expanding interaction in tourism.

Finally, the Tatarstan President presented Valentin Konovalov with a medal in honour of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR.

The incredibly fast pace of market development contributes to the increasing relevance of the national project. Improvements in production technology, the emergence of new trading platforms, volatility of resource prices and other factors contribute to the risk of losing competitive advantage. To reduce this risk, the enterprise needs to evolve and adjust to the current conditions.

Increase of labour productivity in enterprises is one of the most pressing development areas in Russia. In Tatarstan, the Regional Competence Centre in Labour Productivity (RCC), established in 2017 on the basis of the Tatarstan Centre for Energy Saving Technologies under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, successfully implements this area within the framework of the Labour Productivity national project.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, a total of 128 Tatarstan enterprises in various sectors have joined the national productivity project to date, and 249 companies are scheduled to join it by the end of 2024. The most successful projects have significant results with an economic effect of up to RUB 100 million per year.

Targeted support and systemic measures to support the national project are aimed at optimising and mainstreaming all activities. Some of the lean production tools used in the targeted support measures optimise production processes.
