Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Omsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Burkov have signed an action plan to implement the interregional agreement. The ceremony was held today at the Kazan Kremlin.
Governor Burkov has arrived in Kazan to participate in the 9th Russia, a Country of Sports international sports forum.
President Minnikhanov thanked the Omsk Oblast delegation for visiting Tatarstan. He stressed that the main areas of joint work between the regions have been shaped in recent years. The development of bilateral ties is facilitated by a direct flight between Kazan and Omsk.
The Tatarstan President stressed the positive changes in trade relations. Omsk Oblast buys trucks, special vehicles and buses, chemical products, fuel and fuel oil, glass, medicines and foodstuffs from Tatarstan. Tatarstan traditionally purchases tyres, petrol, motor oils, synthetic rubbers. Rustam Minnikhanov added that Tatarstan enterprises are interested in further developing cooperation with the Omsk Oblast.
The Tatarstan President also thanked the Governor for his support to the Tatars living in the Omsk Oblast. These are about 42,000 people.
For helping to strengthen interregional ties, Rustam Minnikhanov presented Aleksandr Burkov with a medal in honour of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR.
