Kazan DSK, thanks to its participation in the Labour Productivity national project, has received a preferential loan for the retrofitting of its prefabricated reinforced concrete production. The project budget exceeds RUB 94 million. The total capacity of precast concrete parts production is expected to increase by 30%, from 100,000 to 130,000 cubic metres per year. The enterprise from Tatarstan has been increasing its own efficiency with the support from the Federal Competence Centre since 2019.
The budget of the project consists of three parts: RUB 52.3 million was provided by the Russia’s IDF, RUB 22.4 million, by the Tatarstan Investment Venture Fund, and about RUB 20 million, by the enterprise itself. It is planned that equipment upgrades will increase labour productivity by 30%, the cost of production will be reduced by 5%, and the level of product localisation will be 100%. The manufactured products will be used for construction of residential buildings in Kazan.
With the support from Federal Competence Centre experts, the company has achieved serious results in six months: the process running time for reinforced concrete items using a Sommer line has been reduced by 3-fold, work-in-progress has been reduced 5-fold, and output has increased by 60%. This resulted from changes in process from rebar welding to bonding in the pilot production line.
In the course of the project, 20 experts of the Kazan House-Building Plant gained new knowledge and experience. The rest of the employees are being trained in lean production tools by internal trainers of the enterprise.
