The 70,000th Ford Transit vehicle came off the production line of the Ford Sollers facility in Yelabuga. The jubilee version of the LCV is a white all-metal van with a medium wheelbase and a medium-height roof, equipped with a Duratorq diesel engine of 2.2 litres (125 hp) and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Today, special and social line of Ford Sollers comprises more than 55 modifications and continues to expand and improve to meet the changing needs of customers, new requirements and regulations for transportation. These vehicles are manufactured in partnership with accredited body builders with the support from the Ford Sollers R&D Centre in accordance with Ford’s strict quality standards.
It was Ford Transit that was launched first at the Ford Sollers facility in Yelabuga, at the same time with the start of the JV's operating activities in Russia. Today, the Yelabuga plant manufactures Ford Transit of the 4th generation under full cycle technology that include welding, painting, and assembly. Localised production allows the company to offer Russian customers a state-of-the-art product adapted for use in the Russian context at a competitive price. The basic product line includes all-metal van, bus and chassis with various drive types, including 4WD.

On May 27, Kazan saw the Tatarstan-Shandong Business Forum held as part of the visit by a delegation from the city of Yantai (Shandong Province of China).
The Forum took place in the Pushkin Conference Hall of the Korston Hotel and was attended by representatives of major enterprises of Tatarstan and China from various industries: petrochemicals and energy, textiles, health care, agriculture, etc.
The Forum was moderated by Chairman of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageyev. On behalf of Tatarstan, guests from China were welcomed by Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina. In their opening speeches, representatives of China, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of CPPCC Han Jinfeng and Consul General of PRC in Kazan Wu Yingqin, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the delegation and noted the importance of partnership relations between Tatarstan and China.
The Forum continued with B2B meetings where representatives of companies from Tatarstan and China were able to discuss opportunities for their further cooperation. In total, more than 70 Tatarstan and Chinese businesses took part in the Forum.
The Tatarstan-Shandong Business Forum ended with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Chinese-Russian Union of Enterprises and the Machine-Building Cluster of Tatarstan.
A meeting of the Energy Working Group of the Russian Federation State Council was held today at the Energy Centre of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, chaired by Governor of Kemerovo Oblast and Head of the Energy Working Group Sergey Tsivilev.
The meeting discussed the implementation of the Federal Law No. 279-FZ of July 29, 2017 “On Amendments to Federal Law on Heat Supply”, and the issues of support mechanisms for attracting private investment in retrofitting heat supply facilities and improving heat consumption efficiency in apartment buildings.

Today, a ceremonial opening of a truck cab frame plant took place in the KAMAZ works in Naberezhnye Chelny. A new stage in the strategic partnership of two giant automakers KAMAZ and Daimler AG was marked by the creation of a plant for the production of new-generation cab frames.
The plant opening ceremony was attended by Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Aleksandr Morozov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov, and Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin.
From Germany, the ceremony was attended by Head of Daimler Trucks & Buses Martin Daum, Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Stefan Buchner, Chairman of the Board of DK RUS Gerald Jank, and CEO of DK RUS Andreas Deuschle.
The cab frame plant is the largest facility that is being built at KAMAZ for the last decades. The plant capacity is 55,000 cabs per year. The cab frames will be delivered to the KAMAZ assembly line and the assembly production of Mercedes-Benz trucks in Naberezhnye Chelny. The commissioning of a new enterprise with an area of more than 60,000 square metres will create 700 new jobs.

The Lyceum with Extensive Learning of Chemistry for Gifted Children, a branch of the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) heard the last bell ringing for its 2019 graduates. Heroes of the day, jointly with their class teachers, were greeted with loud applause by honoured guests, parents, teachers, educators, and students of the Lyceum. This year, 24 lyceum students (pupils of 11th grade) are graduating from the Chemical Lyceum.
On this day, the graduates were congratulated by Lyceum Director Liliya Ibrasheva, Head of the Zelenodolsk Municipal District and Mayor of Zelenodolsk Aleksandr Tygin, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education Lyubov Ovsienko, Head of Corporate Management Dept. at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Andrey Fyodorov, teachers, educators, and parents.
Eight Lyceum students of 9th and 11th grades became gold medallists. Throughout the celebrations, words of appreciation and gratitude were addressed to the entire teaching staff of the Lyceum and warm wishes were extended to the graduates. This year, a new tradition was born in the Lyceum: each graduating class planted one apple tree in the schoolyard. At the end of the day, the graduates sent aloft colourful balloons into the sky, while making their wishes.

Celebrating Chemist’s Day is an annual tradition. This year, a ceremonial event was held at the Neftekhim Arena with the participation of honoured guests, current and retired employees of petrochemical industry, and the leaders of the republic.
The Chemist’s Day celebrations was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metshin, representative of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Sudakov, Director General of TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, Director General of Tatneft Nail Maganov and other executives of major republic’s chemical enterprises.
The exhibition organised in the second floor lobby of the Neftekhim Arena presented the achievements of industry’s companies and organisations together with their products and 2018 outcomes.
In honour of the professional holiday, a concert programme took place on a thematically decorated stage. The stage of the ice arena saw creative dance and vocal youth groups, and a “Chemistry” video show. Awards were traditionally presented in the categories of “Industry’s Long-Service Employee”, “Honouring Scientists, Practicing Engineers, Production Innovators”, “Leader of Polymer Processing in Tatarstan”, and “Industry’s Future”.
The Sixth Meeting of the joint Tatarstan-Turkmenistan working group on trade, economic, scientific, technology, and cultural cooperation was held today at the Crystal Hall of the Kazan Palace Hotel by Tasigo during the visit of the Turkmenistan government delegation.
The Turkmenistan delegation headed by Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Batyr Bazarov included top officials and representatives of sectoral ministries, agencies, and major industrial companies of Turkmenistan.

On May 23 to May 25, Chelyabinsk is hosting the specialised exhibition titled “Ural Motor Show 2019. Commercial Vehicles”. This large-scale event annually brings together various participants of the automotive market, such as Russian and foreign manufacturers, importers, distributors of equipment and components.
At the exhibition, visitors studied a wide range of cars and trucks of famous brands. A large number of various passenger vehicles were presented in the street display at the Tractor Ice Arena. Among them is the Russian-made Lotos 105 bus, a notable feature of which is a LNG engine, which uses liquid methane as a fuel.
The Lotos city bus, manufactured by RariTEK, is capable of carrying up to 72 passengers, 23 of whom are seated. This is a convenient means of transportation for people with limited mobility, equipped with a ramp and a special accommodation place. The floor of the bus is lowered, which also contributes to its comfort during operation.
The Lotos 105 is equipped with a 260-hp engine, an Allison T280R automatic gearbox, and a 450-litre cryogenic tank.

Today, a delegation of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province (PRC) headed by Vice-Governor Mao Weiming arrived at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan. This is the first visit that takes place within the framework of the meeting of the Council for Cooperation between the Regions of the Volga Federal District and the Provinces in the Upper and Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River held on May 23-24, 2019 in the city of Cheboksary (Chuvashia).
At the meeting, representatives of China and Tatarstan discussed the possible signing of a cooperation agreement between Tatarstan and Jiangxi Province in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and tourist fields.
The People's Republic of China is considered one of the key foreign trade partners of Tatarstan. The trade turnover between China and Tatarstan is increasing from year to year. Since 2017, this figure grew by 10% reaching $628.7 million in 2018. The promising cooperation areas include mechanical engineering, automotive sector and petrochemicals, energy, biomedicine, robotics, agriculture, as well as investment and innovative production spheres.

Today, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev welcomed Deputy Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan Velamukhammet Shykhgulyev. The meeting was held as part of the Turkmenistan delegation visit to Tatarstan and on the eve of the 6th meeting of the Joint Turkmenistan-Tatarstan working group to be held on May 24 at the Kazan Palace Hotel by Tasigo.
At the meeting, issues of cooperation were discussed between Turkmenistan and light industry enterprises in Tatarstan.
