KAMAZ and Daimler AG: a new stage of cooperation

Today, a ceremonial opening of a truck cab frame plant took place in the KAMAZ works in Naberezhnye Chelny. A new stage in the strategic partnership of two giant automakers KAMAZ and Daimler AG was marked by the creation of a plant for the production of new-generation cab frames.

The plant opening ceremony was attended by Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Aleksandr Morozov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov, and Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin.

From Germany, the ceremony was attended by Head of Daimler Trucks & Buses Martin Daum, Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Stefan Buchner, Chairman of the Board of DK RUS Gerald Jank, and CEO of DK RUS Andreas Deuschle.

The cab frame plant is the largest facility that is being built at KAMAZ for the last decades. The plant capacity is 55,000 cabs per year. The cab frames will be delivered to the KAMAZ assembly line and the assembly production of Mercedes-Benz trucks in Naberezhnye Chelny. The commissioning of a new enterprise with an area of ​​more than 60,000 square metres will create 700 new jobs.
