The Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia is a landmark holiday which originated in 1996. It was on this day that the presidents of the two states signed the “Treaty on the Union between Belarus and Russia”. Every day we are working together to achieve the main goal of the integration: to improve the lives of people through the successful socio-economic development of Belarus and Russia.

This holiday is an evidence of friendship, trust, and intention to further develop the Belarusian-Tatarstan cooperation. The development of cooperation between Tatarstan and the Republic of Belarus is one of the priority areas of Tatarstan’s foreign economic activities.

An Agreement between the Government of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on trade, economic, scientific, technology, and cultural cooperation has been in force since 2004. Tatarstan has a branch of the Embassy of Belarus in Kazan.

In recent years, relations between Tatarstan and Belarus have been successfully developing in various areas. The foreign trade turnover between the two republics amounted to more than USD 870 million in 2020.

On this festive day I wish everyone health, happiness, new success in the name of prosperity of our brotherly peoples, strengthening of the existing relations and further mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas!
