The Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters holding (part of Rostec Corporation) played host to a visiting session of the Tatarstan State Council Committee for Economics, Investment, and Entrepreneurship and a round table discussion on “Digitalisation as a Factor in Increasing the Competitiveness of Industrial Enterprise”. The event was also attended by deputies of the Russian State Duma and representatives of Tatarstan’s executive authorities.

The guests toured the main production workshops of the company and the central inventory warehouse. The event participants were told about the digital transformation at the Kazan Helicopters: from working with electronic design documentation and organising the movement of components to after-sales services.

The Ansat helicopter has become the driver of digitalisation at the enterprise. Design documentation for the helicopter is prepared as an electronic 3D model and is approved by the enterprise’s services without paperwork. All parties involved in the creation of an aircraft work in a single information environment, which is adapted to the enterprise’s standards and processes and complies with GOST requirements.

Guests were also shown the assembly of the latest rotorcrafts, the Ansat, Mi-38, and Mi-8/17. A medical module for the medical version of the Ansat helicopter was presented. Ansat air ambulances equipped with lung ventilators are actively involved in the fight against COVID-19 throughout Russia.

The Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters holding (part of Rostec Corporation) has delivered the first Ansat helicopter and the heavy multi-purpose Mi-17-1V to the Republic of Turkmenistan. Both aircraft will be used in the new International Burn Centre for medical evacuation of the injured and critically ill patients.

A contract to supply the Ansat and Mi-17-1V was signed between the Kazan Helicopters and the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency on March 31, 2020. In accordance with this contract, both helicopters are supplied to Turkmenistan in a universal version with medical modules and medical equipment on board, with additional provision for anti-burn kits. The cabins are equipped with air conditioning.

Within the framework of the contract with the Türkmenhowaýollary Agency, 30 pilots, engineers and technicians of the operating organisation have been trained at the Aviation Training Centre of the Company. The programme included theoretical and practical training, including training on the new Ansat helicopter simulator. The cadets successfully completed the training and received certificates.

Kazan Helicopters has a long history of cooperation with Turkmenistan. Between 2009 and 2015, a total of 11 helicopters manufactured by the Kazan Helicopters were supplied to that country.
