Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Kuibyshev Railway Vyacheslav Dmitriev discuss issues of interaction

On April 5, at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a working visit in Yelabuga municipal region of the republic, and Head of the Kuibyshev Branch of the Russian Railways Vyacheslav Dmitriev discussed issues of interaction between the republic and the Kuibyshev railway in terms of further development of the railway infrastructure.

In particular, Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of the Kuibyshev railway for cooperation, since these business contacts are very important.

The development of the railway infrastructure is one of the factors for the further growth of the regional industrial potential, Minnikhanov emphasized. He also reminded that the region has serious plans for the further development of agglomerations, including the Kama and Almetyevsk agglomerations. Tatarstan President stressed that industrial enterprises will increase production volumes. They include the TANECO Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex, the Ethylene-600 project at Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company and others.

Moreover, the Alabuga Special Economic Zone is also actively developing, and its residents are boosting production, Minnikhanov went on to say.

The Kuibyshev Railway is our strategic partner, he said.

Dmitriev briefly informed Minnikhanov about the main economic indicators, project work with the Republic of Tatarstan. He noted that this year there has been a tendency for the recovery of passenger and freight traffic on the railway compared to the previous year.

Aide to Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin, Minister of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan Farit Khanifov, Director General of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone Timur Shagivaleev and other officials took part in the meeting.
