On July 17, the results of the Republic’s contest “Best Goods and Services of Tatarstan 2017” were summed up in the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
In 2017, a total of 449 applications from 207 manufacturing enterprises, organisations, institutions, and masters of republic’s folk arts and crafts were submitted for the Best Goods and Services of Tatarstan contest.
The Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Tatarstan Centre for Standardisation, Metrology, and Certification, the Tatarstan Ministry of Health, other ministries and agencies have done a great job of attracting contestants.
According to the results of the voting, the Organising Committee decided to honour 110 products and services with the title of contest winners and to award 158 diplomas of the 1st degree and 149 diplomas of the 2nd degree. The Organising Committee also recommended the contest winners for nomination to the federal stage of the contest, the 100 Best Goods of Russia.
In addition, the Organising Committee was presented an action plan for promoting the Best Goods and Services of Tatarstan contest, which focuses on the activities to raise awareness about it and to target a wide range of participants.
From July 12 to July 14, Pfizer's delegation visited the Republic of Tatarstan with an extensive programme of events.
In order to discuss cooperation issues, Pfizer experts visited the Tatkhimfarmpreparaty, the Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, the Tatarstan Ministry of Health, the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the Scientific and Educational Centre for Pharmaceutics at KFU, the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology at KFU, the KNITU, the Kazan State Medical University, and the Kazan State Medical Academy.
The meetings were devoted to the issues of potential cooperation in the fields of development and localisation of medicines, educational programmes for doctors, students, resident physicians, postgraduates, and regional programmes of supplying medicines for cardiology, oncology, rheumatology, neurology, and psychiatry.

On July 14, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a working meeting with representatives of Haitian International.
During the event, the participants discussed issues of implementing the project for the establishment of the Haitian Centre for Innovative Technologies in Kazan. Head of the Russian Office Aleksandr Dokuchaev was given a presentation of the site for the Centre's location, as well as possible lending and leasing programmes for polymer processors. The parties expressed interest in this project and outlined further steps for its implementation.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Technopolis Himgrad, the Ak Bars Bank, the Gazprombank branch in Kazan, the Leasing Company for Small Business in Tatarstan, the NMK Fund for Entrepreneurship Support in Tatarstan, and the Kazanskaya Yarmarka.

The Republic’s Festival of Working Youth Creativity “Our Time – Beznen Zaman” has been held in Tatarstan with support from the President of the Republic since 2013. The festival was established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Federation of Trade Unions, as well as a number of other ministries, agencies, and organisations. On July 13, the Zelenodolsk Plant named after Gorky will hold a ceremony of laying the keels of two high-speed passenger ships of Project A145E tailored for a customer from the United Arab Emirates. The celebrations are expected to be attended by representatives of the UAE, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the officials of the Zelenodolsk Municipal District, and Ak Bars Holding Company.
Comfortable high-speed passenger ships of Project A145 are designed for carrying 150 passengers with luggage in the coastal marine area with a speed of about 40 knots at a distance of up to 400 miles unrefuelled. Developed by the Agat Design Bureau, a unique hydrodynamic system including the geometry of the underwater hull part, automatically controlled interceptors, and water jet propellers with water intakes located in front of the stern provides this shallow-draught vessel with an opportunity to rationally balance such characteristics as high speed (40 miles), high seaworthiness, and fuel efficiency.
The ships have a state-of-the-art exterior and interior design and meet the latest requirements for comfort and safety of transportation. Its noise and vibration levels correspond to all the established international regulations and standards.
Today in Almetyevsk, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov opened the Children's Technology Park “Quantorium”. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Director General of the Federal Operator for Developing Network of Quantorium Technology Parks Marina Rakova, Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Engel Fattakhov, and others.
As the President of Tatarstan noted, the theme of developing children's creativity, support of children’s research clubs has always been active in the republic. Rustam Minnikhanov recalled that the Quantorium technology parks for children have already been established and are currently operated in such cities of Tatarstan as Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk.
The sites are established using the funds from the federal budget and extra-budgetary sources in pursuance of the Russian President's order of May 27, 2015.
For reference: a Quantorium technology park is a present-day-format platform where children solve real tasks in the field of bioengineering, neurotechnology, unmanned aircraft, programming, nanotechnology, robotics, and other promising scientific and technology areas. At the same time, children are taught a team play, creative, critical, and productive thinking.
In the five months of 2017, the gross regional product of the Republic of Tatarstan, according to estimates, exceeded RUB 835 billion, or 104% at comparable prices over the same period in 2016. The products were shipped with a total value of more than RUB 863 billion; the industrial production index was 103.5%. In mining operations, the PPI grew by 2.8% compared to the level of January-May 2016. This was announced today at the Oil Summit by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
The traditional Oil Summit is held in the settlement of Karabash (Bugulma Municipal District) and is attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Kirill Molodtsov, Director General of the State Commission for Reserves of Commercial Minerals (GKZ) Igor Shpurov, Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Director General of Tatneft Nail Maganov, and others.
Addressing the participants of the event, Minister Albert Karimov emphasised that the contribution of the Tatarstan’s petroleum sector to the total volume of shipped products was 60.6% (worth RUB 522.6 billion).
As a result of the comprehensive reconstruction, which started in 2014, the most reliable power flows will be ensured between the Centre, the Middle Volga, and the Urals.
The 500-kV Bugulma Substation is one of the three largest substations in the Tatarstan power system that provides transit of electricity from the Middle Volga generation facilities (Volzhskaya HPP, Zhigulevskaya HPP, Zainskaya GRES) to the Urals through the 500-kV Beketovo Substation.
The large-scale renovation of expensive power and secondary equipment at the 500-kV outdoor switchgear was launched in 2014.
The old equipment is now entirely dismantled; construction and assembly operations are being completed for the further installation of a new one, which has been received from the manufacturers. Also, a work was carried out to dismantle the old and install new busbars. Glass insulators that are currently being installed have better parameters than the previous porcelain elements.
The final stage of the work is to be carried out in July, after which the territory will be landscaped: the project provides for planting of trees, bushes, and grass cover.

The ethylene plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim has produced the 17-millionth tonne of ethylene since its launch.
The first ethylene product was received in June 1976 at the Ethylene-450 unit (ethylene production facility with an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes). On August 31 of the same year, the State Commission signed the commissioning certificate for this new facility.
As a result of the first reconstruction and retrofitting of the ethylene plant, which was carried out in 1988-1992, the ethylene output was increased up to 485,000 tonnes per year. In 2011, after the second reconstruction, which was carried out in 2002-2009, the plant reached an output of 600,000 tonnes per year. Since that time, the annual ethylene output averages 607,000 tonnes per year.
In total, during the plant's operation, about 57.6 million tonnes of pyrolysis feedstock were processed and more than 33.8 million tonnes of main products were produced (in addition to ethylene, these are propylene, divinyl, and benzene).

On July 11, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a regular meeting of the interagency working group for implementing federal legislation in the field of security and counter-terrorism safety of fuel and energy facilities in the Republic of Tatarstan with the participation of representatives from Spetsintec and the Scientific and Production Complex Dedal.
During the meeting, the experts of the companies had an opportunity to study the latest developments in the field of technical equipment for physical protection (security) and integrated systems based on them for equipping industrial facilities, as well as up-to-date aids for detecting and countering unauthorised flights of unmanned aerial vehicles over the territories of fuel and energy facilities.
In addition, the results of field checks of fuel and energy facilities by the officers of the Russian National Guard Division in the Republic of Tatarstan were made public for determining the compliance of their protection systems with legally approved criteria. This subject is even more relevant in the context of holding world-level sports and other events in the republic in 2017-2018.
