The ethylene plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim has produced the 17-millionth tonne of ethylene since its launch.
The first ethylene product was received in June 1976 at the Ethylene-450 unit (ethylene production facility with an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes). On August 31 of the same year, the State Commission signed the commissioning certificate for this new facility.
As a result of the first reconstruction and retrofitting of the ethylene plant, which was carried out in 1988-1992, the ethylene output was increased up to 485,000 tonnes per year. In 2011, after the second reconstruction, which was carried out in 2002-2009, the plant reached an output of 600,000 tonnes per year. Since that time, the annual ethylene output averages 607,000 tonnes per year.
In total, during the plant's operation, about 57.6 million tonnes of pyrolysis feedstock were processed and more than 33.8 million tonnes of main products were produced (in addition to ethylene, these are propylene, divinyl, and benzene).
