On April 18, the First Congress of Entrepreneurs of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal District and the Trans-Kama Region was held in Nizhnekamsk. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

The Congress was held in the House of Folk Arts. The ground floor accommodated stands of various Nizhnekamsk companies, from residents of industrial parks to school companies.

The location for the Congress was chosen not coincidentally, because exactly one third of the republic’s entrepreneurs work in the territory of Nizhnekamsk and the Trans-Kama region. Their contribution to the SME turnover is also about 30 percent of the republic’s total. Such a huge number of businessmen really have something to discuss.

Within the framework of the Congress, entrepreneurs talked at six different sections devoted to a wide range of areas: from Innokam territorial development to the news in the telecommunications industry. The participants can benefit from the Face-To-Face project and live communication on the sidelines. All this will not only be remembered by the symbiosis of friendly and business atmosphere, but also by fruitful results, such as new business projects, expansion of production facilities, and general improvement of the business climate.

The automotive plant of KAMAZ started the assembly of the first production batch of KAMAZ-5490 NEO trucks.

The KAMAZ-5490 NEO truck tractor is of great interest in the market, the first orders for the vehicle have already been received. It is expected that a total of 135 vehicles of this model will be assembled in April. Demand for the newly-designed product is justified, since the upgraded version of the flagship KAMAZ-5490 is taking into account all the wishes of the customers that operate the new-generation KAMAZ trucks.

According to Chief Designer for Advanced Vehicles Evgeny Makarov, the main emphasis is on increasing the capacity of fuel tanks. “We have developed four NEO configurations: two with the automatic gearboxes manufactured by ZF, and two with the mechanical gearboxes manufactured by ZF KAMA”, said Makarov. “The vehicle came with an extended axle base (the distance from the front axle to the rear axle), which allows increasing the fuel tank capacity to 695 litres from one side, and if you need a second one, the total capacity can reach 1100 litres”.

In addition, the updated truck tractor has a rather different spring suspension: now, due to rubber-metal hinges, it does not require periodic maintenance. According to Makarov, this results in reduced operational costs for customers.
