On 12 August 2016, Kurkachi airfield in the Vysokogorsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the open I Opt for the Sky Air Show. The official opening ceremony was attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Aide to the Russian President and Chairman of the Commission under the Russian President for the Development of General Aviation Igor Levitin.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin, and others.
The ceremony ended with awarding the State and republic’s awards to best workers of the industry and winners of aerial contests.
Prior to the awarding ceremony, Igor Levitin accompanied by Ildar Khalikov and other officials, made tour of the festival territory, where he learned about training pilots for the light aviation and progress of model aircraft hobby groups and clubs.
On 12 August 2016, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov chaired the meeting on general aviation development. The event was held within the I Opt for the Sky Air Show that was held at the Kurkachi airfield in the Vysokogorsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The meeting was attended by Aide to the Russian President Igor Levitin, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, top executives of Tatarstan aviation enterprises, and others.
Ildar Khalikov noted that to date aviation plays a significant role in social and economic development of the republic.
Tatarstan Prime Minister added that one of the serous areas in Tatarstan implemented to date by order of the Russian Ministry of Defence is preparation of a new unmanned aircraft with high capacity.
According to Tatarstan Prime Minister, Tatarstan also pays great attention to military and patriotic education of youth, development of aviation, technical, and military applied sports, and training of field-oriented experts.
Igor Levitin, in turn, reminded that in June 2016 Vladimir Putin adopted a decision to reorganise the Commission under the Russian President for the Development of General Aviation.
Further other participants of the meeting made their suggestions and gave their ideas on development of the general aviation.

On 11 August 2016, Kazan Helicopters of Russian Helicopters’ Holding (part of Rostec State Corporation) hosted the offsite meeting of top executives of Rostec State Corporation and AO Russian Helicopters.
The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Director General of Russian Helicopters’ Holding Aleksandr Mikheyev, and Director General of PAO Kazan Helicopters Vadim Ligai.
During the meeting, the participants discussed a workload and financial condition of Kazan Helicopters and other plants of Russian Helicopters’ Holding, as well as investment projects aimed at productivity enhancement by upgrading and retrofitting of Kazan Helicopters that started in 2008.
The third meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Work Safety and Protection at Industrial and Trade Enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan was held on 10 August 2016. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Almaz Khusainov; representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade; Tatarstan Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Services; State Labour Inspection in Tatarstan, Association of Tatarstan Enterprises and Industrialists, Republic’s Committee of Chemical Workers Union, Interregional Association for Work Safety, and NP Volga Quality Centre.
During the meeting, the participants discussed accidents occurring during production processes and considered measures initiated to improve conditions of work safety.
The meeting of the Interregional Association for Work Safety ended up with the approval of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade in work safety activities.
On 10 August 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and a shareholder of PAO Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant Andrey Komarov.
During the meeting held in the Kazan Kremlin, parties discussed the progress of the agreement on social and economic cooperation that was signed in December 2014 between the Republic of Tatarstan and PAO Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant, as well as outlook for development of Alnas Plant that is entering the oilfield service division of PAO Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant.
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to interaction between the Tatarstan Government and OAO Alnas in the sphere of foreign economic activities.
On 10 August 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov opened the 5th meeting of the Coordination Council of Tatarstan Machine-Building Enterprises. The Coordination Council was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Director of the Department for the Aviation Industry of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Sergey Emelyanov, Principal of the Moscow Aviation Institute Mikhail Pogosyan, top executives of aircraft enterprises, sectorial scientific and educational institutions of Tatarstan and Russia, and representatives of foreign companies.
This year according to the Tatarstan President, republic’s enterprises shipped products to the amount of RUB 907 billion, RUB 167 billion of which are in the mechanical engineering sector.
On 10 August 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the official opening ceremony of the 8th International Specialised Exhibition “Aerospace Technologies, Advanced Materials and Equipment” (AKTO-2016). The ceremony was also attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Director of the Department for the Aviation Industry of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Sergey Emelyanov, Principal of the Moscow Aviation Institute Mikhail Pogosyan, Deputy President for Programmes of PAO United Aircraft Corporation and Director General of PAO Tupolev Aleksandr Konyukhov, and top executives of leading aircraft enterprises and educational institutions of the country.
The 8th International Specialised Exhibition “Aerospace Technologies, Advanced Materials and Equipment” (AKTO-2016) gathered over 120 participants from 15 countries.On 10 August 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov learned about production processes in facilities at AO Kazan Giproniiaviaprom, which are operating at the Technopark of Industrial Technologies “KNIAT Innovation and Technology Centre”. He was accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Director General of AO Kazan Giproniiaviaprom Boris Tikhomirov, and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov and his accompanying persons learned about activities of a production facility that produces electrodynamic shakers. They also made tour of a galvanic processes’ workshop that applies nickel boron coating at AO Kazan Giproniiaviaprom. That processing line is the only line that applies nickel boron coating in Russia.
On 9 August 2016, the meeting of the Organising Committee of the annual open Republic’s Working Youth Creativity TV Festival ‘Nashe Vremya – Beznen Zaman’ was held under the chairmanship of Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov.
Albert Karimov noted that the festival is being held for the fourth time under the auspices of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
During the meeting, parties considered main issues of holding the festival in 2016 and approved the time plan of holding the festival, regulation, and composition of the jury.
