Kurkachi airfield to host I Opt for the Sky Air Show

On 12 August 2016, Kurkachi airfield in the Vysokogorsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan will host the I Opt for the Sky Air Show.

The official opening ceremony will be attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov; Aide to the Russian President and Chairman of the Commission under the Russian President for the Development of General Aviation Igor Levitin; Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov; Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov; Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin; Chairman of the Russian Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Fleet and Colonel General Aleksandr Kolmakov; long-service employees of the aviation industry, top executives and personnel of leading aviation enterprises, students and pupils of the Republic of Tatarstan.

This year, the event is dedicated to the 55th Anniversary since the first manned space-flight, the 65th Anniversary since the establishment of the Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Fleet of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, and the 35th Anniversary since the first flight of Tu-160 strategic bomber.
