On December 19, the Lemaev Petrochemical and Oil Refining College hosted the “Best in Profession” contest among electricians. The event was attended by 14 employees of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, 2 electricians of subsidiaries and 3 college students.
The knowledge and skills of the participants were evaluated in the course of theoretical and practical tasks. In the first part, the contestants had to correctly answer 60 questions within the allotted time of 40 minutes. More time was needed to complete the practical stage consisting of two tasks. Contestants collected an electrical circuit with the aimed parameters and performed programming actions.
In total, professional contests in 13 major skills were held in 2019. The best specialists were determined among chemical analysis laboratory assistants, repair technicians, machinists, shift supervisors, welders, drivers, gas rescue teams, unit operators, instrumentation and automation fitters, turners, design engineers, process engineers, and electricians.
Professional skills contests give young workers an opportunity to be creative and initiative, demonstrate their professional knowledge and skills, and improve in their chosen professions; this is also a career growth opportunity.

Today, Minister Karimov had a meeting with a vanguard group from China to hold Days of Heilongjiang Province in Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Culture, the Tatarstan Ministry of Sports, the Tatarstan Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Tatarstan Ministry of Education, and the Tatarstan Ministry of Health.
“The trade turnover between Tatarstan and China is growing annually. In 2018, it amounted to US$ 628.7 million. The republic has ties with a number of provinces in China. To date, 7 agreements have been signed on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture, social and humanitarian spheres”, said Albert Karimov.
From the Chinese side, the delegation was headed by Wang Haijun, Head of Foreign Office of the Heilongjiang Provincial People’s Government.
The main topic of the meeting was the issues of preparation to the Days of Heilongjiang Province in Tatarstan; the event dates were tentatively set in July 2020.
Minister Albert Karimov congratulated and presented honorary diplomas and gifts to young yacht-masters, students of the Dolphin Yacht Club. In 2019, Viktoriya Tsiplyaeva and Sergey Vakhrameyev received the titles of the Candidate Master of Sports.
The award ceremony took place within the final meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Tatarstan Sailing Federation. The members of the Board summarised the results of the Federation’s activities in 2019 and discussed a number of organisational issues.

The outlet is located at 76 Yamashev Avenue. The store’s area is about 550 square metres. Its assortment consists of over 5,600 popular goods; products of local manufacturers are widely represented and marked by “Made in Tatarstan” signs. There are also about 40 halal product items.
Interactive price checkers are installed for buyers; with their aid, one can quickly find the exact price of the goods. There are upgraded displays at the cash desks showing the items in a check and current promotion actions. The inscriptions on signs and navigation elements are made in the Russian and Tatar languages. The company offers a new digital system, SELFIETOPAY, which can be used for paying the goods through a face-recognition system – without cash, card, or phone.
In addition, the company, jointly with Tatspirtprom, installed a fandomat (a kiosk for used containers) in the store. Here, one can also place plastic caps to a special box, which are sent for processing, and the proceeds go to help adopted children with developmental disabilities.

On December 18, 2019, a press conference was held at Tatenergosbyt aimed to summarise the results of the company’s work for 9 months of 2019 and outline the main tasks for the next year.
The company’s experts introduced the press conference participants to the structure of the client base in Tatenergosbyt, major changes in electricity generation and consumption, pricing issues for consumers, and presented the opportunities of a Client Area for individuals. The new Client Area is now under testing. In addition to collection of utility meter readings and payment for them, the service will also have a history of payments and readings, consumption statistics for all resources, and an opportunity of submitting online applications.
A round table discussion was also held during the press conference, where reporters were informed about changes in the company’s organisational structure: on December 3, the reorganisation procedure of Main Clearing Centre - Tatenergosbyt was completed in the form of a merger with Tatenergosbyt. Now, the united organisation carries out the functions of both the republic’s guaranteeing supplier and the clearing centre. It was noted that in the new year, the power supply service will be included in a single payment document. In January, this will be implemented as a pilot project in the Sabinsky District, in February, in Yelabuga and Mendeleyevsk, and starting from March, throughout Tatarstan.

Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a final meeting in 2019 of the Committee to Combat Illicit Trafficking of Industrial Products in Tatarstan.
Deputy Head of Tatarstan Customs Leyla Tufetulova spoke about the measures to protect the rights to intellectual property implemented by efforts of customs officers.
To date, the customs register has more than 5,000 intellectual property entries. Control over the enforcement of intellectual property rights is carried out during the declaration of goods with the filing of a customs declaration for goods and in the domestic market.
Most often, signs of counterfeit goods are detected in automotive parts, children’s building sets and toys, laptop cases, souvenirs, etc. In total, this year’s damage in the republic amounted to about RUB 18 million. The vast majority of counterfeit goods come from China, as well as from India, Hong Kong, and other countries.
At the moment, the main burden in the fight against counterfeit lies precisely on the shoulders of copyright holders. Counterfeiting today is becoming an increasingly serious problem, affecting the interests of not only businesses, but society in general. Consumers buying lower quality goods often risk both their money and their health.
Kazanorgsintez has created the infrastructure for shipping its products in 40-foot containers. As part of the company’s logistics facilities, a separate platform was built for the storage of such containers and their loading. Handling operations will be carried out using the new Kalmar reach-stacker.
40-foot containers are expected to be used mainly for multimodal transportation. First of all, this means expanding the supply of Kazanorgsintez products by sea to Asian countries. Moreover, contracts are currently underway with a number of European polymer processors. For transportation, the company will use the services of large container owners with experience in both the domestic and foreign markets.

The Ministry hosted a regular meeting of the working group on implementing the wind farm construction project under the chairmanship of Minister Karimov.
The working group was created in December 2018 to organise the interaction of ministries, agencies, local self-government bodies, and industrial enterprises in the construction of wind farms in Tatarstan.
To date, wind measurements have been completed in the Kama-Ustinsky, Rybno-Slobodsky and Spassky districts of the republic. In addition, wind monitoring is now being conducted in other districts of Tatarstan to identify additional potential sites for wind farm construction.
A total of sixteen such sites have been identified; it is there that the experts from the Kazan State Power Engineering University are now determining the wind potential of the republic. This was explained at the meeting by Nail Timerbaev, head of the Renewable Energy Department at KSPEU.
At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the development of a Roadmap to coordinate project implementation efforts.
The Bars Footwear Company launched a new line for the production of specialised work footwear in Chistopol (Tatarstan). Shoes, boots, and other models of safety footwear will be made of leather, polymeric materials, and foamed rubber.
With the aid of a joint federal-regional loan, the Bars Footwear Company acquired hi-tech equipment for sole moulding to specialised leather shoes. The technology will allow the production of lightweight, wear-resistant, and safe footwear. The company will purchase the necessary raw materials from Russian suppliers.
Safety footwear is in demand at manufacturing enterprises, in mining, food, pharmaceutical, oil refining, and other industries. The Bars products will be delivered to industrial enterprises of the republic and other Russian regions.
In March 2019, the Industry Development Fund supported the project by providing the enterprise with a loan of RUB 31.5 million, another RUB 13.5 million were allocated by the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund under the federal-regional Development Projects programme. The total project budget amounted to RUB 134.5 million. At the moment, according to the company, the market for special and work footwear in Russia is 5.7 million pairs, or RUB 22-24 billion in cash equivalent. The Bars Footwear Company, upon reaching maximum capacity, plans to occupy about 4% of the Russian market for the production of work footwear.

This is also evidenced by the highest prizes of the 100 Best Goods of Russia Programme, which were awarded this year to three enterprises of the republic.
The Success in Import Substitution Prize was awarded to TMS Group, which is actively implementing lean production methods and continuously improving its activities, effectively solving oil production tasks with minimal losses. The Innovation Prize was awarded to OOO Innovation Technology for the Re-Flame intumescent fire retardant composition. The Taste of Quality Prize was awarded to the Department of Food and Social Nutrition of Kazan for the “Sour-milk product for therapeutic and preventive nutrition Bifilife”.
All three products, as well as the Firdaus Golden Oil produced by OOO Müstela and maintenance service for domestic and foreign aircraft equipment by OOO Tulpar Technic, were included in the Gold Hundred list. This status is awarded to only 100 products of the country, distinguished by excellence in quality, environmental friendliness, safety, and other indicators.
