Today, Magnit chain opened in Kazan its first innovative and most up-to-date neighbourhood store. It is equipped with solutions that meet current industry trends, which previously were predominantly used by retailers in large formats. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Albert Karimov.
The outlet is located at 76 Yamashev Avenue. The store’s area is about 550 square metres. Its assortment consists of over 5,600 popular goods; products of local manufacturers are widely represented and marked by “Made in Tatarstan” signs. There are also about 40 halal product items.
Interactive price checkers are installed for buyers; with their aid, one can quickly find the exact price of the goods. There are upgraded displays at the cash desks showing the items in a check and current promotion actions. The inscriptions on signs and navigation elements are made in the Russian and Tatar languages. The company offers a new digital system, SELFIETOPAY, which can be used for paying the goods through a face-recognition system – without cash, card, or phone.
In addition, the company, jointly with Tatspirtprom, installed a fandomat (a kiosk for used containers) in the store. Here, one can also place plastic caps to a special box, which are sent for processing, and the proceeds go to help adopted children with developmental disabilities.
