The Bars Footwear Company launched a new line for the production of specialised work footwear in Chistopol (Tatarstan). Shoes, boots, and other models of safety footwear will be made of leather, polymeric materials, and foamed rubber.

With the aid of a joint federal-regional loan, the Bars Footwear Company acquired hi-tech equipment for sole moulding to specialised leather shoes. The technology will allow the production of lightweight, wear-resistant, and safe footwear. The company will purchase the necessary raw materials from Russian suppliers.

Safety footwear is in demand at manufacturing enterprises, in mining, food, pharmaceutical, oil refining, and other industries. The Bars products will be delivered to industrial enterprises of the republic and other Russian regions.

In March 2019, the Industry Development Fund supported the project by providing the enterprise with a loan of RUB 31.5 million, another RUB 13.5 million were allocated by the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund under the federal-regional Development Projects programme. The total project budget amounted to RUB 134.5 million. At the moment, according to the company, the market for special and work footwear in Russia is 5.7 million pairs, or RUB 22-24 billion in cash equivalent. The Bars Footwear Company, upon reaching maximum capacity, plans to occupy about 4% of the Russian market for the production of work footwear.
