On February 27, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) headed by Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Maksim Prokopyev.
The meeting was held by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the activities that are scheduled to be held within the Days of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the Republic of Tatarstan in May 2020, as well as the issue of increasing mutual trade turnover.
As part of the visit by a delegation of businesspeople and officials from the Bukhara Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Tatarstan - Bukhara Region Business Forum. From Tatarstan, the forum was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, Chairman of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageyev, Deputy Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council and Chairman of the Deputies’ Ethics Commission Marat Akhmetov, Chairman of the State Committee of Tatarstan for Tourism Sergey Ivanov, and Deputy Director General of TAIF for Corporate Governance of Property and Investment Ayrat Shigabutdinov.
The event saw a presentation of the economic, investment, and cultural potential of Bukhara. According to the investment climate rating of Uzbekistan in 2019, Bukhara held the first place. Two SEZs, Bukhara-Agro and Gijduvon, are of interest to invest in, investment proposals in the tourism sector have been prepared, and Bukhara City is developing.
The forum ended with B2B meetings, where entrepreneurs could find direct business partners and consider cooperation proposals.

On February 21-23, the Volga Youth Centre hosted the 2nd Working Youth Convention in preparation for the Republic’s Annual Open TV Festival of Working Youth Creativity Our Time - Beznen Zaman.
The official opening of the seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan, and the Tatarstan Federation of Trade Unions.
In the course of three days, the participants studied the history of the Festival, took part in master classes and trainings from the best Russian and republic’s coaches. A meeting was also held with the Festival’s Grand Prix holders, where participants shared their experiences and talked about the ways and methods of preparing for the Festival.
On February 21, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov took part in the final session of the Yelabuga Municipal District Council dedicated to the results of its socio-economic development in 2019 and tasks for 2020.
In addition, during his visit to Yelabuga, a cooperation agreement was signed as part of a meeting with Director General of PKF Atlantis-Pak Igor Perepletchikov on the implementation of an investment project to place the plastic sausage casing production.
On February 20, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov took part in the final sessions of the Councils of the Bavly and Yutazy Municipal Districts dedicated to the results of their socio-economic development in 2019 and tasks for 2020, and visited the exhibition of products manufactured by enterprises located in the districts.
Today, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the State of Israel to the Russian Federation Yacov Livne paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan in order to strengthen cooperation between Israel and Tatarstan.
His programme included a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, visits to the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Eidos company, a tour of the Innopolis University and Innopolis Special Economic Zone, a visit to the Kazan Synagogue (a Chabad-Lubavitch synagogue), a meeting with the Jewish community of Tatarstan, a meeting with Chief Rabbi of Tatarstan Yitzhak Gorelik, and a meeting with organisers of the Jewish Music Festival.
The winners of the contest entitled “Best Mentoring Practices in Tatarstan 2019” were determined among enterprises participating in the Labour Productivity and Employment Support national project.
The contest’s goal is to identify and disseminate the best practical experience of mentoring in order to increase labour productivity, recognise and encourage mentors who have made a significant contribution to the development of mentoring and the replication of effective mentoring practices in Tatarstan.

In accordance with the Footwear Marking Rules approved by Resolution of the Russian Government No.860 dated July 5, the compulsory marking of footwear was introduced since July 1, 2019. The Rules stipulate that from March 1, 2020, footwear may not be put into circulation, circulated, or put out of circulation in the Russian Federation without applying identification marks to them and submitting information about marked goods to the information marking system.
As a result of incoming appeals of individual participants in the footwear market about their ill-preparedness to submit information on the circulation of marked footwear to the information marking system, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed a draft resolution of the Russian Government on introducing amendments to the above Resolution, which includes, inter alia, postponement of the start date for the submission of information by footwear circulation participants to the information marking system on putting into circulation and circulation of marked footwear until June 1, 2020; postponement of the end date for marking unsold footwear until August 1, 2020; postponement of the end date for marking footwear imported into the Russian Federation after March 1, 2020, but purchased before March 1, 2020, until July 1, 2020.
Starting from March 1, 2020, participants in the circulation are obliged to receive and apply marking codes on footwear and to put marked footwear out of circulation. Also, starting March 1, 2020, the circulation of unmarked footwear is prohibited.

On February 14, a meeting was held between the management of AO Sintez and Kazan Synthetic Rubber Plant and the Tatarstan President. Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the working progress of the Promtech Corporation subsidiary and the launch of all workshops at the Kazan Synthetic Rubber Plant. The company secured the support of the region in the further development of the previously shut down plant. Sintez will continue to increase industrial turnover, hire personnel, and expand its product range.
On February 13, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting dedicated to discussing the prospects for the development of wind energy sector in the Republic. The meeting was attended by representatives of NovaVind, one of major participants in the wind energy market, the Tatarstan Regional Dispatching Office of the Unified Energy System, the Tatarstan Grid Company, and the republic’s ministries.
