As part of the visit by a delegation of businesspeople and officials from the Bukhara Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Tatarstan - Bukhara Region Business Forum. From Tatarstan, the forum was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner, Chairman of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageyev, Deputy Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council and Chairman of the Deputies’ Ethics Commission Marat Akhmetov, Chairman of the State Committee of Tatarstan for Tourism Sergey Ivanov, and Deputy Director General of TAIF for Corporate Governance of Property and Investment Ayrat Shigabutdinov.
The event saw a presentation of the economic, investment, and cultural potential of Bukhara. According to the investment climate rating of Uzbekistan in 2019, Bukhara held the first place. Two SEZs, Bukhara-Agro and Gijduvon, are of interest to invest in, investment proposals in the tourism sector have been prepared, and Bukhara City is developing.
The forum ended with B2B meetings, where entrepreneurs could find direct business partners and consider cooperation proposals.
