The 20th International Exhibition entitled “Foodstuffs, Ingredients and Production Technologies: UzFood 2021” was held on 28-30 April 2021 in Tashkent with participation of Tatarstan.
The participation of SMEs in this exhibition was organised by the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan and the Tatarstan Business Support Foundation.
During the exhibition, Director General of the Tatarstan Business Support Foundation Aydar Salikhov took part in the meetings with Head of the Russian Trade Mission in Uzbekistan Andrey Mokrousov, and Director General of The Tower Business Centre and the Makro Chain Roman Sayfullin.
Meetings with Uzbekistani trade chains were also held, where Tatarstan companies discussed possible formats of cooperation and entry into the Uzbek market.
In addition, representatives of the Tatarstan Business Support Foundation held a meeting in the Representative Office of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, they discussed the opportunities of further cooperation in terms of introducing Tatarstan SMEs to the Uzbekistani market. An agreement on further targeted support to entrepreneurs was reached. Entrepreneurs could apply to the representative office for assistance in promoting their products in the market of Uzbekistan.
With the assistance from the Tatarstan Office in Uzbekistan, B2B talks were held with the Tajikistan chain of Yovar supermarkets who visited the collective stand.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting today with Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov and Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldy Serdarov. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
The meeting was attended by Plenipotentiary Representative of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan Ruslan Kabirov, Director of Tatneft Trading House Vladimir Shumskiy, and others.
During the talks, the sides reaffirmed their common desire for further development of bilateral trade and economic, scientific, technology, and cultural cooperation.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working together in order to develop interregional cooperation and support each other in all areas of partnership.
Nearly 40 Tatarstan enterprises presented their products at the Eurasian Economic Union exhibition. The display focused on key industries of the republic: oil and gas, mechanical engineering, agriculture, digitalisation, IT, and others.
At the exhibition, KAMAZ presented a KAMAZ 54901 truck tractor, a KAMAZ 6595X dump truck, a KAMAZ 6282 electric bus, and a KAMAZ 6299-40-52 articulated city bus. The Kazan Helicopters displayed an Ansat Aurus helicopter in the executive version. POZIS company presented a POZIS RK FNF-173 household double chamber refrigerator with an electronic unit and VACProtect VPA-200 POZIS active medical vaccine storage refrigerator. The Kazan Motor-Building Production Association presented mock-ups of the NK-38ST GTE and GTEU-18 Volga. The Ak Bars Shipbuilding Company presented mock-ups of the Chaika LNG boat and the Meteor 2020 vessel.
The Eurasian Economic Union will be held in Kazan on 29-30 April at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, with delegations from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan in attendance.

Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan have a great potential for the development of trade relations. In 2020, the mutual trade turnover exceeded $41 million. Today, there is every possibility of increasing these volumes. This was stated today by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at his meeting with Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov. The meeting took place at the Kazan Kremlin.
The Tatarstan President stressed that the current volume of trade turnover does not meet current opportunities. He suggested stepping up interaction in trade and economic areas. Among the priority areas for joint work President Minnikhanov named oil refining and petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, helicopter building, vehicle construction and production of vehicle components, IT, medicine and pharmaceutics, science and education.
A special place in relations between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan is occupied by similar culture and traditions, close languages, and a common religion. Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out that next year Tatarstan would mark widely the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgars. The President invited representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic to attend the event. Rustam Minnikhanov also suggested more active development of tourism ties, in particular, the resumption of direct flights between Kazan and Bishkek.
In response, Ulukbek Maripov noted the great potential in trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting was held at the Tatarstan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, where the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
The event was attended by Deputy Director General of Tatneft Renat Nugaybekov, Deputy Director and Head of Sales of Special Machinery and Tractor Equipment at ELAZ Trading House Rustam Khuseyinov, First Deputy Managing Director of Kazancompressormash Eduard Mustakimov, Deputy Director General for Quality of OOO Fond Service Ivan Romanov, Technical Director of OOO Fond Service Anatoly Beskorovainy, and Deputy Director General for Development of OOO MC EnergoRazvitie Andrey Lupin.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in continuing close contacts to promote topical issues of common concern for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Roman Golovchenko and Rustam Minnikhanov examined a special exhibition organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan. The display was dedicated to the republic’s key industries: oil and gas chemicals, mechanical engineering, agriculture, etc. Large Tatarstan companies, such as Tatneft, TAIF, KAMAZ, Kazan Helicopters, took part in the exhibition. The site also presented products of Tatarstan’s plants: buses, agricultural machinery, Aurus vehicles, etc.
Then, Minister of Communications and Information of Tatarstan Ayrat Khairullin presented innovative developments of Tatarstan and spoke about the main areas of digital transformation in the republic: digitalisation of public services, development of super-services for citizens, and personnel training for the digital economy.
Further on, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina made a presentation of investment potential in Tatarstan.
Today the Alabuga Special Economic Zone was visited by Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, as a part of his working visit to Tatarstan.
Roman Golovchenko studied the activities of the MTZ-Tatarstan Trade and Production Company. The main business of MTZ-Tatarstan is a wholesale trade of agricultural and forestry machinery, equipment and tools, including tractors. The company also sells tractors and spare parts for them and other machinery, and manufactures and sells agricultural machinery based on Belarus tractors.
Roman Golovchenko and Rustam Minnikhanov also inspected the production facilities of August-Alabuga that produces liquid preparative forms of high-tonnage pesticides. This is a clean production, similar to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Then, at a working meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov and Roman Golovchenko discussed issues of cooperation. The key area of Belarus-Tatarstan cooperation is the development of cooperative ties between petrochemical sector companies which account for over two thirds of mutual trade turnover between Belarus and Tatarstan.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed following the working meeting between Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and President Rustam Minnikhanov. The document envisages further mutual interest in developing trade, economic, scientific, technology, and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan.
The first Commission meeting on the issues of interaction between the Government of Tatarstan and the Rostec Corporation took place today in Moscow.
The meeting was attended by Director General of the Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, and Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin.
Topical issues of cooperation were discussed.
АO Chelny Khleb summarised the results of implementing the Labour Productivity national project.
In the course of the project, the target values were improved by over 40% on average, a project office and a reference site were created, an internal trainer was trained, an information centre was established, Lean Production tools were implemented on the reference site, exemplary workplaces were created, and critical operations in the product flow were standardised on the Fritsch production line.
In the course of the project, a number of effective solutions were implemented to improve process efficiency. One of such solutions is implementation of addressable storage and change of planning system for semi-finished products in the freezer, which allowed to reduce the amount of unfinished products in the flow from 18 tonnes to 7.5 tonnes and to respond more promptly to daily customer requests for products manufactured in the flow.
Equipment efficiency was improved by introducing the SMED tool for quick changeover. The changeover time was reduced by 18%.
In addition to the results achieved, the Regional Competence Centre identified Chelny Khleb by its pilot certification as a project evaluation company in the implementation phase. The company has successfully passed this not simple and uneasy event. The Federal Centre of Competence Commission highly appreciated the involvement of the company in the project programme and the project success.
More than 250 students and teachers from educational establishments of Tatarstan and Mari El visited POZIS (part of the Tecmash Concern under the Rostec Corporation) within the All-Russian No-Turnstile Week campaign.
The peculiarity of the tours within the framework of this career guidance campaign was an individual approach to each group of schoolchildren or students.
All participants studied the main facilities and processes of the POZIS production of refrigeration appliances. POZIS guests were especially impressed by the work of designers who come up with ideas, work them out to the smallest detail and implement by a professional team of technologists, workers, and craftsmen.
The students got a deeper insight into the work of the energy, refrigeration, forging, and other departments. The plant experts informed them about the prospects of company’s development, present-day technologies used in the refrigerator production, social component provided for the young professionals, etc.
As part of the programme, the guests visited the showroom of household appliances, where new advanced models were presented, together with the first exclusive refrigerator from Tatarstan, which will soon be 62 years old.
POZIS takes part in a large-scale campaign called No-Turnstile Week held under the auspices of the Russian Engineering Union for the 7th year in a row.
