Alabuga SEZ visited by Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus

Today the Alabuga Special Economic Zone was visited by Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, as a part of his working visit to Tatarstan.

Roman Golovchenko studied the activities of the MTZ-Tatarstan Trade and Production Company. The main business of MTZ-Tatarstan is a wholesale trade of agricultural and forestry machinery, equipment and tools, including tractors. The company also sells tractors and spare parts for them and other machinery, and manufactures and sells agricultural machinery based on Belarus tractors.

Roman Golovchenko and Rustam Minnikhanov also inspected the production facilities of August-Alabuga that produces liquid preparative forms of high-tonnage pesticides. This is a clean production, similar to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Then, at a working meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov and Roman Golovchenko discussed issues of cooperation. The key area of Belarus-Tatarstan cooperation is the development of cooperative ties between petrochemical sector companies which account for over two thirds of mutual trade turnover between Belarus and Tatarstan.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed following the working meeting between Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and President Rustam Minnikhanov. The document envisages further mutual interest in developing trade, economic, scientific, technology, and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan.
