TANECO was named the winner of the 13th All-Russian Contest titled “Leader of Environmental Protection Activities in Russia 2017” in the category of “Environmental Responsibility”.

 

This prestigious contest is annually held on the initiative of such international forums as “World Experience and Economy of Russia” and “Human Health and Ecology”. The contest’s expert commission includes representatives of federal ministries, relevant committees of the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Russian Federation, top executives of public organisations, scholars, and principals of major Russian universities. The contest is held for purposes of public encouragement of enterprises for their active work in the field of environmental protection.

 

TANECO today is one of the most advanced Russian enterprises, both in terms of economic performance and environmental friendliness of its production. This is confirmed by data of the continuous environmental monitoring conducted by TANECO experts. The cutting-edge high-tech equipment of the laboratories at the Nizhnekamsk Complex of Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants makes it possible to cover the whole range of necessary studies stipulated by the Russian and international laws.

On February 28, the Republic of Tatarstan was visited by Nikolay Solomon, Deputy Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation.

Within the framework of his visit, he had a meeting with Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, where the participants discussed the issues of interaction between federal and regional competence centres in the area of labour productivity.

It will be remembered that Tatarstan is one of the first six pilot regions selected for the implementation of the federal top-priority programme entitled “Raising Labour Productivity and Supporting Employment” that was approved in August last year.

Despite the tight deadlines, Rosatom experts are working since late 2017 on the introduction of lean tools at two republic’s enterprises, one of which Nikolay Solomon visited today.

Today, the Tatar-Inform Media Agency hosted a press conference devoted to the results of the government programme “Development of the Gas-Engine Fuel Market in the Republic of Tatarstan” in 2017 and its outlook for 2018.

The discussion with journalists was attended by Head of the Fuel Infrastructure and Gas Supply Department at the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Ramil Sakhapov, Head of the Centre for Implementing Support and Development Programmes to Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in Tatarstan Ravil Sirazeyev, and Kazan Branch Deputy Director at the OOO Gazprom Gas-Engine Fuel Aleksandr Karpov.

During the press conference, it was announced that a total of 232 various vehicles were purchased and 859 vehicles converted by the end of 2017. In addition, Tatarstan to date has 11 accredited stations for converting vehicles to gas fuel and providing maintenance to them.

Meanwhile, the republic accommodates 2 laboratories accredited by the Federal Accreditation Agency (OOO Testing Laboratory 16 and OOO Testing Laboratory Povolzhye (Tattechkontrol)) that perform technical expert examinations of the gas-cylinder equipment installed on vehicles.

On February 27, a meeting of the Joint Final Collegium of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Tatarstan Ministry of Economy was held on the topic of “Raising Labour Productivity”. The meeting was hosted by the Volga Academy of Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism (Kazan).

In his speech, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov noted that the industrial production output exceeded the 2016 figures, amounting to RUB 2,254 billion.

Tatarstan Minister of Economy Farid Abdulganiev delivered a report on “Enhancing Labour Productivity in Tatarstan”. In particular, he noted that digitalisation of the economy would lead to full transparency in all spheres of public life and openness of any processes.

Speaking at the meeting, the Tatarstan President said that the task today is not just to create industrial sites in the regions, but also to provide them with residents.

Also on this day, reports were made by Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metshin, Director General of ICL-KME CS Viktor Dyachkov, and Director General of OOO Kazanselmash Rafis Miftakhov.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting between Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Ambassador of the United States of America to Russia John Huntsman.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the Russian-US relations. Albert Karimov made a presentation of the republic’s industrial potential and talked about current joint projects and promising areas in trade, economic, and technology cooperation between Tatarstan and the United States.

The US Ambassador to Russia arrived in Kazan with a two-day visit. During his stay in the republic, John Huntsman met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the Kazan (Volga) Federal University, the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, and the Kazan Thermal Power Plant No.3, where he made a tour of a new power generation unit equipped with one of the world’s most powerful and efficient turbines, 9HA.01, manufactured by General Electric. The Ambassador’s programme includes visits to the SEZ Innopolis, the island town of Sviyazhsk, and much more.

On February 23, the Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard will hold the ceremony of laying down the eleventh small missile ship of Project 21631 developed by the Zelenodolsk Design Office, which, at the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, was given the name Naro-Fominsk.

The small missile ships of Project 21631 have a displacement of about 950 tonnes and can reach up to 25 knots. They carry Kalibr cruise missiles, a 100 mm naval gun (A-190), as well as Gibka launchers for Igla surface-to-air missiles and AK-630-2 Duet close-in weapon system. The ships of this project are dedicated to the protection and defence of national economic zones.

As of today, five more ships of this project are under construction at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard; these are Vyshny Volochek, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Ingushetia, Grayvoron, and Grad.

On February 17-19, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Russia Sylvie Bermann was on an introductory working visit to Kazan.

Ms Sylvie Bermann heard a presentation of the economic and investment potential in Tatarstan; she also made a tour of the Kazan sights, such as the Kazan Kremlin, the Kul-Sharif Mosque, and the Annunciation Cathedral, and visited the “Collages of Jacques Prévert” exhibition in the Hermitage Kazan Centre.

Within the Sochi 2018 Investment Forum, an agreement was signed to create an inter-regional industrial cluster titled “Composites without Borders” between the Republic of Tatarstan, the Moscow Region, the Saratov Region, and the UMATEX Group (Rosatom Corporation), aimed at developing the domestic composites market and shaping a complete production chain for composite materials.

The document was signed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyev, Saratov Region Governor Valery Radaev, and First Deputy Director General of Rosatom Corporation Kirill Komarov.

The main objective of the cluster is to ensure the composite industry growth by creating a complete polymer composite production chain in the Russian Federation, including raw materials, chemical fibres, semi-processed goods based on them, and final consumer products. Participation in the cluster was announced by over 20 Russian enterprises, including 11 enterprises in Tatarstan (Alabuga-Volokno, RMZ RariTEK, RariTEK Engineering, Zaryad, Tatneft-Presscomposite, P-D Tatneft-Alabuga Fiberglass, Glass-Reinforced Plastic Pipe Plant, SMP-Mechanika, REKON, KAMATEK, and Simonov Design Bureau), 5 higher educational institutions in three Russian regions, and 2 technology infrastructure facilities (SEZ Alabuga and Technopolis Himgrad).
