Zelenodolsk Shipyard to host keel-laying ceremony of eleventh Project 21631 ship

On February 23, the Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard will hold the ceremony of laying down the eleventh small missile ship of Project 21631 developed by the Zelenodolsk Design Office, which, at the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, was given the name Naro-Fominsk.

The small missile ships of Project 21631 have a displacement of about 950 tonnes and can reach up to 25 knots. They carry Kalibr cruise missiles, a 100 mm naval gun (A-190), as well as Gibka launchers for Igla surface-to-air missiles and AK-630-2 Duet close-in weapon system. The ships of this project are dedicated to the protection and defence of national economic zones.

As of today, five more ships of this project are under construction at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard; these are Vyshny Volochek, Orekhovo-Zuevo, Ingushetia, Grayvoron, and Grad.
