#Giving Tuesday is an international day of charitable giving, which takes place in Russia today, on November 27. The movement has already spread in more than 100 countries around the world. This day was first announced in Russia in 2016. The main goal of the initiative is to develop a culture of philanthropy and to support volunteering.

#GivingTuesday can be supported by any charity activity, either volunteer or fundraising event, concert, lecture, donation, or by just a post on the topic of charity in social networks. The event is held with the support from the Presidential Grants Foundation, the All Together Charity Gathering, the Association of Fundraisers, the Donors’ Forum, Blagosfera, the Agency for Social Information, and the World Wildlife Fund. This year, the events within the #GivingTuesday initiative are held until December 4, 2018.

Representatives of enterprises are invited to take part in the Lukoil Supplier Day to be held within the framework of the International Specialised Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” and the 13th Specialised Exhibition “TechnoWelding”.

The event will take place on December 6, 2018 at 13:00 in Kazan (Pavilion No. 1, Conference Hall of Kazanskaya Yarmarka).

The mission of the event is to present corporate policies in the field of procurement, import substitution of materials and technology used by the company, as well as to establish contacts for interaction with republic’s enterprises.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting of the working group for organising and coordinating the work of the republic’s gas motor fuel market development and the conversion of vehicles and agricultural machinery to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG). All parties to the gas fuel market development process gathered at the negotiations table: equipment manufacturers, representatives of KAMAZ and RariTEK; representatives of gas filling station chains; executives of Topgas responsible for the construction of an LNG plant in the Tyulyachinsky District; representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The meeting was held by Minister Karimov.

“Since the beginning of the Programme (launched in 2013) in Tatarstan, about 4,400 vehicles have been converted to compressed natural gas (CNG) or purchased as gas-powered”, the Minister said.

The working group participants discussed plans for LNG equipment development and production in 2019 to 2025.

At the end of the discussion, the working group came to the general opinion that it is important to understand the economic risks of all the components of the gas fuel market development process so that to create a system efficient enough for investors and easily accessible for consumers from Tatarstan.

The Tatarstan Energy and Resource Efficiency Forum comprising the 19th International Symposium “Energy & Resource Efficiency and Energy Saving” and the 20th International Specialised Exhibition “Energy. Resource Saving 2019” (further, the TEF 2019) will be held in Kazan in the spring of next year from March 19 to March 21, 2019.

The TEF 2019 will also see the 6th Republic’s Youth Initiatives Contest “We Opt for Energy Efficiency 2019” (further, the Youth Contest) and the Republic’s Contest of Corporate Mass Media and Press Services for the best coverage and promotion of energy saving and energy efficiency issues (further, the Media Contest).

The contests are held in order to popularise the fields of energy efficiency and energy saving and will be launched from November 26, 2018.

The wrap-up meeting and the award ceremony for the contests will be held for the Media Contest on March 19, 2019 within the framework of the Tatarstan Government Meeting on the implementation of the government programme “Energy Saving and Enhancing Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2014-2020” and on March 21, 2019 for the Youth Contest, as part of the Youth Day at TEF 2019.

Today, Kazan saw the closing ceremony for the second stage of the Tatarstan’s regional Young Professionals competition (WorldSkills Russia) 2018/2019. The award ceremony for winners in the 5 skills (2 for adults and 3 for juniors) assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan was held on the premises of the Interregional Competence Centre at the Kazan Technical School for Information Technologies and Communications.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov. In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Minister congratulated the winners on reaching the finals and expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to partner enterprises for supporting this international movement, as well as to the experts in skills for their successful cooperation and invaluable contribution to the development of the WorldSkills movement in Tatarstan.

In addition, he noted that the city of Kazan faced an ambitious task, the holding of the National Competition and the 45th WorldSkills Competition. The holding of the WorldSkills Competition in 2019 would make it possible to contribute to the republic’s overall record of victories and prepare highly qualified world-class professionals.

Within the framework of the Republic’s Young Leaders Contest entitled “Vverkh” (Up!), The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan held qualification procedures for its participants, which include tests for tackling sectoral cases and individual interviews. The authoritative commission that comprises representatives of republic’s ministries and agencies will select future interns and determine the finalists. According to the results of the internships, a new composition of the Youth Government of Tatarstan will be formed.

The republic’s Vverkh! Contest has been held annually since 2009 and is aimed at creating a mechanism for preparing and training management personnel for state and local government bodies, institutions and organisations, and youth public associations of Tatarstan. Starting from 2016, the composition of the Youth Government of Tatarstan is being formed following the results of the Contest. Since 2017, the Contest programme also includes re-qualification of the current members in the Youth Government of Tatarstan.

Today, as part of the eleventh Helicopter Forum of Russia, a plenary session was held on the Economics of the Helicopter Industry: Components of Success. Minister Karimov attended the session. On behalf of the Tatarstan President, Assistant to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov made a welcoming speech to the participants.

The Helicopter Forum plays the role of a discussion platform for both industry participants and decision makers. For the first time in its history, the forum was moved out of the Russia’s capital. During the session, participants discussed sectoral issues and problems, defined criteria for the sustainable economic development of the helicopter industry, increased pricing transparency, and other issues.

In particular, Director at the Aviation Industry Department of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Ravil Khakimov told the audience about measures of support for the Russia’s helicopter industry; Head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport Aleksandr Neradko made a report about certification of helicopters and its components, and Director General of the Russian Helicopters holding Andrey Boginsky elaborated on the development of the Russia’s helicopter industry.

The session was moderated by Director General of Romashin RPE Technologiya (Obninsk) Andrey Silkin, who stressed that Russia is a country where the helicopter industry has to be the most developed in the world, given its geographical expanses.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting with the Chinese delegation headed by Deputy Director at Economic and Technology Division of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Henan Province Wu Yonghong. The meeting was held by Deputy Minister German Lerner.

The parties discussed the opportunity of creating partnerships for cooperation of enterprises between Tatarstan and Henan, as well as issues of Russian-Chinese commercial, scientific, and technology cooperation. It is worth noting that Henan Province is China’s leading engineering and agricultural region.

Today, Kazanorgsintez celebrates the 60th anniversary of its foundation and the 55th anniversary of its first products. In honour of this, the company presented four new pyrolysis furnaces at the ethylene plant in the E-200 complex.

The furnaces were launched, as part of comprehensive testing, by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Director General of TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, Chairman of Kazanorgsintez Board of Directors Ruslan Shigabutdinov, and Director General of Kazanorgsintez Farid Minigulov. From the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan the event was attended by Deputy Minister Aleksey Savelchev.

After commissioning, four new pyrolysis furnaces should replace ten old furnaces that have worked for almost 40 years. The upgrade of the furnace units allows improving the efficiency of existing production facilities: raising the output of ethylene plants, enhancing process safety, and reducing production costs.

The construction of new furnaces was carried out from May 2017 to November 2018; base project developer and equipment supplier was Technip Benelux B.V. (Netherlands).

Anniversary celebrations took place in the evening at the Pyramid Cultural and Entertainment Centre, where government awards were also presented.

Today in the Office of the Tatarstan President, a meeting was held on improving the rules for the receipt of applications by executive authorities in the Corruption Management section of the People’s Control State Information System of Tatarstan (GIS RT). From the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the meeting was attended by Head of Consumer Market Development Dept. Rezeda Minnikhanova. The meeting considered the possibility of filing applications in this section without authorisation through the Unified System for Identification and Authentication (ESIA). According to statistics, only isolated cases of citizens' appeals on corruption in the sphere of industry and trade were recorded for the period 2012-2018.
