The Republic of Tatarstan and the Czech Republic have close partnerships in various fields of activity. Once again, the republics showed interest in developing bilateral business relations. This time, a Czech delegation headed by Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Marta Novakova and representatives of industrial enterprises took part in the Tatarstan-Czech Business Forum, which was held as part of the “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” exhibition.

A bilateral meeting was opened in the Sviyazhsk Hall of the Kazanskaya Yarmarka with the participation of Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin and Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Marta Novakova. At the Forum, the parties discussed the potential of industrial, trade, and economic partnership.

The special Tatarstan-Czech joint working group for the coordination of trade and economic cooperation was established in 2011. During this period, several annual meetings of the working group took place, dedicated to cooperation in the areas of inter-parliamentary interaction, energy, transport, technical regulation, construction, agriculture, banking and insurance services, environment, and exhibition activities.

This year, the seventh meeting of the working group was held as part of the “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” exhibition, while the issues of bilateral cooperation were focused on the engineering segment.

The results of Phase Two of the project titled “The Introduction of Mechatronics Dual Study Programme in Educational Institutions” were summed up and advanced training certificates were awarded to project participants, teachers of vocational education institutions.

Three educational institutions confirmed their preparedness to introduce the Mechatronics qualification in 2019 and developed the comprehensive curriculum. In addition, a participant from the Yelabuga Institute under the Kazan Federal University developed a programme for the retraining of teachers at secondary vocational schools.

Advanced training certificates and letters of appreciation were awarded within the framework of the 18th International Specialised Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” with the participation of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov, President of JV Ford Sollers Adil Shirinov, and Head of the Vocational Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan Anna Sidorenko.

The Mechatronics Dual Study project started in December 2017; its second phase was launched in mid-October. The project was attended by 10 teachers from 7 vocational education institutions of Tatarstan.

After the traditional tour of the exhibitions, the Tatarstan President took part in the 8th meeting of the Coordinating Council for Mechanical Engineering titled “Improving the Performance of Enterprises. Digital Transformation of Production”.

This year, the meeting was held in an expanded format with the participation of foreign colleagues from Thuringia (Germany) and the Czech Republic. The Council was also attended by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin.

At the close of the event, a Joint Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and the KUKA company (Germany). The intent of cooperation and partnership was signed by Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Director General of KUKA Robotics RUS Dmitry Kapishnikov.

The “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” exhibition began its work today. More than 170 companies from five countries and 23 regions of Russia take an active part in presentations of their products and establishing business contacts. Machine-tool units, machine-building engines, machinery, and smart robots are displayed at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre.

Welcoming speech at the opening ceremony was delivered by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov who noted that the Republic’s mechanical engineering sector was one of the country’s leaders and attracted the attention of foreign partner companies.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation Vítězslav Pivoňka and Chairman of the State Development Corporation of Thuringia Andreas Krey also spoke at the opening ceremony.

The 15th session of the Joint Working Group for the Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technology Cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Finland was held today in Helsinki within the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation. As part of the discussions, an analysis was carried out for some projects with respect to continuing their implementation. Tatarstan and Finland confirmed their intents to purposefully continue the implementation of various projects, in particular:

- in developing interregional cooperation;

- in developing cooperation in the field of wind energy;

- in arranging the participation of Finnish companies in exhibitions in Tatarstan;

- in exploring joint venture opportunities and implementing joint projects in hi-tech areas and production of globally competitive products in the fields of manufacturing industry and agriculture, information and telecommunication technology, services and consulting;

From the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the meeting of the government delegation was attended by Deputy Minister Ildar Mingaleyev.

From December 5 to December 7, 2018, the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre will host the 18th International Specialised Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” and the 13th Specialised Exhibition “TechnoWelding”.

The event organisers are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, the Kazan City Administration, and the Kazanskaya Yarmarka. The events are held with the support from Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.  The official partner of the 2018 exhibitions is the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

The Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking and TechnoWelding Exhibitions are traditionally the key industry event in the region, demonstrating current trends in the global and Russian engineering market and offering advanced solutions for the modernisation of the Russia’s mechanical engineering sector. This year, more than 160 companies will attend the exhibition to display equipment and technologies from 14 countries: Germany, Israel, Italy, China, Poland, Belarus, Russia, USA, Taiwan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Switzerland, South Africa, and Japan. National displays will be presented by Germany, Belarus, and Czech Republic, regional displays, by the Republic of Crimea, as well as the Samara and Ryazan regions.

On November 29, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov and the participants to the Republic’s Forum of Compatriots titled “The Discovery of Talents”. The participants to this Forum are young professionals and natives of Tatarstan, currently residing abroad.

At the meeting, each participant made a brief presentation of his project. The main topics for discussion were: new technologies in the chemical industry, the establishment of international contacts, the pharmaceutical cluster, information support, the improvement of the existing interaction between educational institutions and industrial enterprises.

The Forum of Young Professionals Living Outside Tatarstan will be held on November 28 to December 1, 2018 in Kazan. The participants' geography is Moscow, Astrakhan, the USA, China, Singapore, Switzerland, Denmark, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, and Egypt. The Forum also involves young professionals who get education outside the republic and returned to work in Tatarstan.

The outcome of the Forum will be projects and ideas that can be implemented in Tatarstan, as well as the concept of a Tatarstanian’s image and the positioning of Tatarstan beyond its borders with specific implementation mechanisms.

In the run-up to the International Young Inventors Award scheduled in 2020 in Kazan, the Science and Technology Conference “Meeting of Young Innovators, Inventors, and Development Engineers of Tatarstan” and the Aktiv Exhibition for Scientific and Technical Creativity of Youth started on 28 November 2018.

The purpose of the conference and the exhibition is to support and encourage invention and innovation activities, to identify scientific and technical potential among students in schools, universities, and employees of enterprises in Tatarstan.

The objective of the event is to catch the interest of young professionals, students, and schoolchildren of Tatarstan in inventive activities.

Within the framework of the Meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Aleksey Savelchev, awarded the winners of the Republic’s Contest “Young Innovator and Inventor of Tatarstan”.

A total of 36 young experts were nominated as best in the Contest categories and awarded letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.

Within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of Tatarstan and the Hokimiyat of the Tashkent Region on the implementation of international and foreign economic relations, a mission of business representatives from Tatarstan was carried out in Uzbekistan today. The delegation included representatives of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Technopolis Himgrad and other companies being potential residents of the industrial park in Uzbekistan. The delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade German Lerner.

In his welcoming speech, he noted: “Tatarstan-Uzbekistan cooperation is one of the priority areas for foreign economic activities of our republic. We have always attached great importance to the development of contacts with Uzbekistan within the framework of Russia-Uzbekistan relations. And we are happy to expand mutually beneficial ties. In recent years, relations between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan have been successfully developing in various fields. The foreign trade turnover between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in January-June 2018 amounted to USD 41.3 million”.

During the business mission, potential residents had targeted meetings with partners, relevant ministries, and agencies of Uzbekistan. The participants were told about the business environment and the socio-economic development of the Tashkent Region.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a working meeting with their counterparts from Turkey, representatives of the Ministry of Trade of Turkey headed by Mr. Zekeriya Bektaş. The meeting was held by Deputy Minister Ildar Mingaleyev. The main topic of discussion was the issues of cooperation in the field of the automotive industry and the production of automotive components. The parties exchanged business plans for the near future and checked the dates of future joint working meetings in expanded format.
