Kazanorgsintez celebrates its anniversary by presenting four new furnaces

22 November 2018, Thursday

Today, Kazanorgsintez celebrates the 60th anniversary of its foundation and the 55th anniversary of its first products. In honour of this, the company presented four new pyrolysis furnaces at the ethylene plant in the E-200 complex.

The furnaces were launched, as part of comprehensive testing, by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Director General of TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, Chairman of Kazanorgsintez Board of Directors Ruslan Shigabutdinov, and Director General of Kazanorgsintez Farid Minigulov. From the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan the event was attended by Deputy Minister Aleksey Savelchev.

After commissioning, four new pyrolysis furnaces should replace ten old furnaces that have worked for almost 40 years. The upgrade of the furnace units allows improving the efficiency of existing production facilities: raising the output of ethylene plants, enhancing process safety, and reducing production costs.

The construction of new furnaces was carried out from May 2017 to November 2018; base project developer and equipment supplier was Technip Benelux B.V. (Netherlands).

Anniversary celebrations took place in the evening at the Pyramid Cultural and Entertainment Centre, where government awards were also presented.
