On February 26 and 27, within the framework of the TIAF Exhibition, business meetings will take place between professionals from the Tatarstan and Volga Federal District markets and some leading manufacturers of auto parts and components from China, including the largest companies and first-level suppliers.

At the last exhibition, more than 200 such meetings were held, which became a basis for new partnerships between Tatarstan companies and Chinese manufacturers.

There are three reasons to participate in business meetings:

- Unique trade offers: companies will present products that are not yet on the market;

- Best offers directly, without intermediaries and third parties;

- National Pavilion of China represents only reliable manufacturers, whose visit to Tatarstan is supported by the PRC Government.

The business meetings will be attended by Level 1 suppliers, that is, direct suppliers of Chinese automakers.

Participation in match-making business meetings has the following benefits:

- opportunity to pre-select companies with products of interest and plan a convenient schedule for visiting the exhibition;

- provision of free personal Chinese interpretation services.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov and a finalist of the Vverkh! contest Guzel Amirkhanova within her traineeship programme. Such traineeships are held by contest winners in a number of republic’s ministries and agencies. Following the results of the programme, the finalists have an opportunity to join the personnel reserve or the youth government of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by Vverkh! Contest Director Alla Kondratieva and Chairman of the Youth Government of Tatarstan Alla Abrosimova. The participants to the meeting discussed plans for further interagency cooperation, as well as proposals for projects that are useful for industrial enterprises.

The republic’s Vverkh! Contest for young leaders has been held annually since 2009. In 2018, a total of 146 applicants from 9 municipalities and cities of Tatarstan applied for participation. It is aimed at creating a mechanism for preparing and training management personnel for state and local government bodies, institutions and organisations, and youth public associations of Tatarstan.

Visitors to the international exhibition has examined packaging equipment from Tatarstan.

The 27th International Exhibition Upakovka 2019 took place at the Expocentre in Moscow. The attention of visitors was attracted by the booth featuring equipment of a Tatarstan research and production company, NPF Integral+. The plant is located in Kazan and manages a full production cycle.

The Tatarstan packaging equipment company was approached by several hundred visitors to the exhibition who marked the good scale of the booth. A total of 6 packaging equipment types were presented for manufacturers of confectionery, snacks, groceries, bread, meat and fish, as well as household chemicals, pet goods, and building materials.

During the exhibition, contracts were signed for the supply of packaging systems to the Moscow, Sverdlovsk, Murmansk regions, and Tatarstan.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the company is implementing a special offer, a discount on equipment for food manufacturers.

One can decide on his/her future profession, starting from primary school age. There are special programmes at industrial enterprises and, in a certain way, prepared areas, where schoolchildren, starting from primary school age, can try themselves in the labour process. The trend of recent years is the surplus of vacancies in blue-collar jobs. This was announced today by Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov and Labour Minister Elmira Zaripova at a press conference.

Among skilled trades, the most in demand are metal workers, electricians, welders, machine tool and equipment adjusters, machine operators, turners, millers. Among professionals with secondary vocational education, the most demanded jobs are experts in installation and maintenance of industrial equipment, automatic control systems, experts in operation and maintenance of electrical and electromechanical equipment, and maintenance of aircraft and engines.

Much is being done in the republic to attract young people to enterprises. In particular, through the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, a youth career guidance forum PROF Movement is organised for students of educational institutions, an all-Russian No-Turnstile Week campaign in order to make direct contact between schoolchildren, students and enterprises, and a rating of industrial enterprises of Tatarstan for development of children's technical creativity in the republic, and other events.

Today in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, Minister Karimov chaired the first meeting of the Coordination Council on the issues of ensuring and protecting the consumers’ rights in the republic.

The Council was attended by top executives of supervisory authorities in trade and consumer markets. The event was held through a video conference with the participation of 44 representatives from executive committees of republic’s municipalities.

Head of the Tatarstan Board of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumers’ Protection Marina Patyashina spoke about the increasing role of local governments in exercising consumer protection authorities and the need for prompt information and holding regular awareness-building activities with the public.

The head of the State Inspectorate of Tatarstan for Ensuring State Control over Production, Circulation, and Quality of Ethyl Alcohol, Alcoholic Beverages, and Consumer Protection Jaudat Akhmetkhanov read out the results of implementing the measures of Sub-Programme 6 titled “Development of Integrated Consumer Protection System in Tatarstan in 2014-2020”, making emphasis on the importance of working with all age groups of the population for promoting their abilities to effectively protect their consumer rights.

Minister Karimov took part today in the extended meeting of the Council of the Tatarstan Association of Enterprises and Industrialists.

Addressing the leaders of major republic’s enterprises, the Minister presented a brief summary of manufacturing industry activities in 2018, spoke about the existing public support measures. So, 69 enterprises received a total of RUB 49.9 billion in state support in 2018. The Industrial Development Fund, including the regional fund, financed 13 projects worth a total of RUB 3.48 billion.

At the end of the event, an Agreement on Cooperation in Foreign Economic Activities was signed between the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation and the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Republic of Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the development of infrastructure and the consumption of CNG, which is the result of the coordinated efforts by republic’s ministries, agencies and enterprises, as well as the successful implementation of the government Programme for the Gas Motor Fuel Market Development in Tatarstan in 2013-2023.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Aleksey Savelchev spoke today at a press conference about the activities carried out within the framework of the gas fuel infrastructure development and the conversion of vehicles to run on gas motor fuel.

As part of the Programme for the Gas Motor Fuel Market Development in Tatarstan in 2013-2023, projects for the conversion of vehicles to run on compressed natural gas are being supported through granting partial subsidies for expenses borne by conversion and maintenance centres during the conversion of vehicles; the subsidy amounts are up to 30% of the nominal conversion costs. Drivers additionally receive a card for 1,500 cubic metres of gas (methane) from the Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel.

By the end of 2018, a total of 1277 vehicles have been converted to gas motor fuel. Altogether, over 5,200 vehicles currently run on compressed natural gas (methane) in Tatarstan.

Today, a representative of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade in charge for the prevention of corruption and other violations took part in the workshop at the Tatarstan Ministry of Justice on reporting income, expenses, property, and property obligations with participation of representatives from ministries and agencies. The workshop was held as a video conference.

In order to highlight the most pressing issues that arise during the submission of relevant information for 2018, reports were delivered by representatives of the Tatarstan Office of Public Prosecutor, the Tatarstan Presidential Board on Anti-Corruption Policies, the Tatarstan Office of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the Tatarstan Department for Traffic Police, the Department of Public Service and Personnel under the Tatarstan President, and the Tatarstan’s regional office of the Social Insurance Fund of Russia.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on analysing the changes in consumer prices, determining the causes and factors of pricing in the commodity markets of Tatarstan. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister German Lerner.

The working group included representatives of the Ministry of Economy, National Bank of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Centre for Economic and Social Research, the Tatarstan Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, and the statistics services. Key participants to the meeting were representatives of such retail chains as Bakhetle, Arslan, Tander, Agava, Metro Cash & Carry, and Selgros Cash & Carry.

In particular, experts discussed the changes in demand and the factors that influence them, as well as the representation of local producers’ commodities in retail chains and prospects for chain development in Tatarstan.

Representatives of the retailers expressed an opinion that the main factors affecting pricing may be a rise in fuel prices, to a lesser extent a VAT increase, and some other factors, such as, dependence on exchange rate for certain categories of goods.

The next meeting of the working group is scheduled for March in the Ministry of Agriculture of Tatarstan with the participation of local Tatarstan’s producers.

Today, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held a press conference in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers on the topic titled “Results of Industry and Trade in 2018 and Prospects for 2019”.

Prior to the press conference, more than 20 questions on the conditions and development of industry and trade in Tatarstan were sent from mass media outlets to the ministry. More than 30 representatives of local and regional media came to the meeting: business portals, news agencies, social and political outlets. At the press conference, the Minister presented the main 2018 results in the manufacturing industry and outlined plans for 2019.

According to statistics, the last year’s industrial production output totalled RUB 2,818 billion, the industrial production index retained its growth momentum compared with 2017 and amounted to 102.0%.

At the end of 2018, the republic's retail trade turnover was RUB 917 billion, which is 106.1% compared to the same period of 2017.

In the end, the Minister answered media questions. Journalists were interested in various topics, questions were asked about the production of UAVs and unmanned vehicles, the oil refining quality and quantity, the polymer market, interaction with large state-owned corporations, the gas motor programme development, etc.
