Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov has sent a welcoming message to the participants and guests of the joint closeout meeting of two Tatarstan ministries, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economy:
“The Republic of Tatarstan is rightly considered the most active and dynamically developing region of the Russian Federation. We all are aware of the importance attached to the competitive, sustainable and structurally balanced regional industry efficiently integrated into the technological environment of our country. Industrial and economic policies of top officials of the republic facilitate reaching the objectives identified by the framework of social and economic development of the Russian Federation”.
On 14 December 2013, the Academy of Sciences hosted a joint closeout meeting of two Tatarstan ministries, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economy. The meeting was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Chair of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade G. Nikitin, and Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Oleg Savelyev.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the meeting participants with a welcoming speech. He described key indicators of Tatarstan economic development in 2012. The GRP has increased by 5.5% to make up RUR 1.415 trillion. The industrial production output rose by 7%, and the oil products, by 26%; machine building products, by 27%, metallurgic products, by 26%; and production of rubber and plastics, by 11%.
On 13 February 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the joint meeting between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Department of External Relations under the President of the Republic Tatarstan dedicated to the results of Tatarstan representative offices in 2012 and to their areas of cooperation in 2013 and attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, Aide to Tatarstan President for International Issues Radik Gimatdinov, top officials from Tatarstan representative offices in the Russian Federation and foreign countries, Chairman of the World Tatar Congress Executive Committee Rinat Zakirov, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov, First Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Yuri Bagrov, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Danil Mustafin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov, and officials heading structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
On 13 February, the Yelabuga factory of Ford Sollers assembled its 20,000th vehicle. It was a white Ford Explorer Limited. This is a premium version of this legendary SUV with Cyclone V6 engine (3.5-litre capacity and 294 hp), 6-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission, Intelligent 4WD System with Terrain Management System and three rows of seats. The SUV employs innovative safety technologies such as Roll Stability Control and Curve Control and is packed with ultimate set of airbags both for the driver and the passengers.

On 11 February 2013, Naberezhnye Chelny hosted a meeting on the issue of establishing the Centre for Youth’s Innovation Creativity (Centre for prototyping, creativity in science and technology, and commercialisation of developments) based on OOO Small Innovation Enterprise of Technology & Resources. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, executives of the Centre for Technical Creativity No. 5, and directors of Technology & Resources and FabLab. The meeting dedicated to the development of children's and youth’s technical creativity determined the steps and patterns of interaction within the programme “Children's Engineering Academy: Modelling, Designing, Prototyping” being developed together with JSC KAMAZ.
On 11 February 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan held the meeting on the topic “Urgent issues of automotive cluster corporate development in Tatarstan” attended by JSC KAMAZ representatives and automotive component manufacturers supplying KAMAZ (26 representatives of 20 companies). Participants of the meeting noted the importance and good timing of pilot projects being implemented in the field of enhancing the quality and competitiveness of automotive components of the republic’s suppliers. The meeting dealt with possible ways and new formats of cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership development between JSC KAMAZ and its suppliers.

On 7 February 2013, Rashat Fattakhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, had a meeting with Denis Labuza, Minister of Support and Development of Small Businesses, Consumer Market and Services of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
During the meeting, Denis Labuza studied the experience of the Republic of Tatarstan in promoting the products of local manufacturers to the trade chains.
The meeting was attended by heads of departments from the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

On 5 February 2013, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoygu paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. Under their programme, the delegation from the Ministry of Defence headed by Sergey Shoygu made a tour of OAO Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association and OAO Kazan Helicopters.

On 29 January 2013, Naberezhnye Chelny hosted the Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum for Cooperation in the Sphere of Automotive Component Production. The forum was held within the agreements between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Turkey reached during the visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Bursa (Turkey) in October 2012.

Under the meeting between heads of municipal bodies for education administration, held on 23 January 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan organised the School Uniform Exhibition with the participation of 10 Tatarstan garment industry enterprises.
During the Exhibition, the Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science issued recommendations to the heads of municipal bodies for education administration to transfer to the school uniform and to involve the Republic’s garment enterprises in executing orders, including those taking part in the Exhibition.
