On 17 January 2013, ZF Kama (a joint venture between OAO KAMAZ and Germany-based Zahnrad Fabrik) manufactured a milestone 40,000th Ecosplit transmission. Ecosplit is a 16-speed mechanic transmission for heavy-duty trucks with load-carrying capacity up to 40 tonnes. It is used in heavy dump trucks, long-haul tractors, fire-engines, racing trucks including KAMAZ-MASTER vehicles, and trailers.

On 15 to 17 January 2013, Tatarstan will be visited by the Volgograd Oblast delegation headed by Volgograd Oblast Governor Sergey Bozhenov. The delegation comprises 8 representatives of the regional executive authorities: Minister of Press and Information O.V.Dyakova, Minister of Economic Affairs, Foreign Economic Relations and Investment E.V. Lagutina, Minister of Transport and Roads A.A. Putin, Minister of State-Owned Property Management M.V. Leontyeva, Head of Volgograd Oblast Governor’s Administration M.V. Reshetov, advisers to the Volgograd Oblast Governor S.A. Zakharchenko and M.R. Shabanov, and Deputy Head of the Volgograd Oblast Representative Office in Moscow A.B.Lyanov. The programme of the visit includes the meeting of Volgograd Oblast Governor Sergey Bozhenov with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. Also planned are the visits to the Technopolis Himgrad, ZAO Danaflex, GAU Agroindustrial Park Kazan, IT-Park, Universiade sports facilities and the Universiade Village.
On 14 January 2013, the Meeting of the Board of Directors of OAO Tatneftekhiminvest-holding chaired by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed the 2012 results of activities of the enterprises engaged in the oil, gas and chemical sectors of the republic. It was preliminary estimated that the enterprises held the lead in the all-Russian output of monomers, polymers, rubbers, and were high in the list of the producers of synthetic detergents, tyres, and crude oil. In 2012, the republic ranked 6th in Russia in oil refining; the relevant production output grew by 7.2%. The most distinctive changes were observed in the production of oil products and rubber articles. High production growth rates were recorded for OAO Tatneft (tyre complex), OAO Nefis Cosmetics, OAO Kazanorgsintez, and ZAO Kvart.

Following the results of 2012, OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim Polystyrene Plant manufactured the record volume of products, over 190,000 tonnes of plastics (high-impact and general-purpose polystyrene), which exceeds the 2011 output by 3,000 tonnes.
The plant’s products are characterised by high quality and are supplied to Europe (Italy, Germany, Hungary, Finland, etc.), Asia (Turkey, Egypt, and China), and the CIS countries (Belorussia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine).

On 11 December 2013 is the 70th Anniversary of Akhmet Mazgarov, President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences. The Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan held a ceremonial event dedicated to this occasion. On behalf of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Akhmet Mazgarov was congratulated by Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

OAO Tatneft allocated RUB 440 billion for the introduction of microturbine power units fuelled by associated petroleum gas. These units will provide a solution to the problem of gathering and utilising associated petroleum gas at the remote fields with low gas flow rates.
On 8 January 2013, Mauritania saw the next-to-last stage of the Africa Race Rally. KamAZ Master crew comprising Anton Shibalov, Yevgeny Yakovlev, and Dmitry Sotnikov on KamAZ proved to be the best on that stage followed by the Czech crew under the leadership of Tomas Tomecek driving Tatra and the Portuguese team headed by Elizabeth Zhasintu on Man. The Russian crew has a big lead in the overall truck ranking.

The personnel of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan celebrated the New Year under the slogan “Towards the Universiade 2013”. When opening the celebration party, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov congratulated the personnel of the Ministry with the coming holiday. He noted the progress in the republic’s industry and trade sector in the outgoing 2012 and expressed his gratitude to the Ministry’s staff for their efficient teamwork.

On 25 December 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan held the meeting at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard with heads of personnel departments of the republic’s enterprises. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, First Deputy Director General of the Zelenodolsk Shipyard Alexander Karpov, and heads of personnel departments from over 30 republic’s industrial enterprises.

The meeting discussed the certification issues for the personnel departments and awarding regulations. The event came up with the awarding of the best personnel officers.

On 25 December 2012, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov chaired the meeting of the Working Group for the creation of the International Congress and Exhibition Centre in the republic. The meeting studied the issues of concept formation for the International Congress and Exhibition Centre and International Trade Centre and the possibilities to implement the project based on the principles of the public-private partnership.
