Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum for Cooperation in the Sphere of Automotive Component Production

On 29 January 2013, Naberezhnye Chelny hosted the Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum for Cooperation in the Sphere of Automotive Component Production. The forum was held within the agreements between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Turkey reached during the visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Bursa (Turkey) in October 2012.
The Forum is aimed towards the further development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkey in the sphere of motor industry. The mission of the Forum is to familiarise the delegation of the Automotive Industry Exporters' Union of Turkey with industrial potential of Tatarstan in the sphere of motor industry and automotive component production, to consider the opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation and creation of joint venture companies to manufacture automotive components involving the development of new polymers and a number of other promising materials that are in demand in the motor industry.
A total of 80 leading Turkish companies took part in the Forum. From Tatarstan, the Forum organised on the premises of OAO KAMAZ was attended by representatives of 40 small and medium-sized businesses specialising in the production of parts and assemblies for KAMAZ and Sollers.
