On 29 August 2013, the delegation of the Russian Defence Ministry headed by the Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Yury Borisov conducted a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. Within their visit, the delegates made a tour of Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association, Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard, and OAO POZIS.

On 27 August 2013, the Tatarstan delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov is participating in the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2013.
On 26 August 2013, the Tatarstan First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation Itti Ditbanjong. The meeting saw the presentations of industrial and investment potential of Tatarstan and Thailand and dealt with the issues of bilateral cooperation.

On 26 August 2013, the Action Plan on cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and Volgograd Oblast will be signed within the working visit by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Volgograd Oblast. The document will be signed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov and Deputy Chairman of the Government of Volgograd Oblast Vasily Galushkin.
Within the working visit, the Tatarstan delegation is scheduled to visit OAO Volzhsky Pipe Plant, ZAO Gazprom Khimvolokno, and OAO Volga Hydroelectric Station.
On 25 August 2013, the Tatarstan delegation headed by the republic’s President Rustam Minnikhanov made a tour of Mamayev Kurgan Historical and Memorial Complex and laid flowers to the Eternal Light.

On 21 August 2013, the meeting between the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and representatives of companies investing in the project for the construction of the inter-sectoral agroindustrial wholesale centre in Tatarstan was attended by the Tatarstan First Deputy Prime Minister Ravil Muratov, Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov. The meeting dealt with the issues of implementing the project and cooperating with the republic’s agricultural producers.
The presentation of the project for the creation of the inter-sectoral agroindustrial wholesale centre in Tatarstan was held as a part of the discussions between Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov, representatives of the republic’s chain trade companies, and top executives of the Spain-based GEI-2A Company.

Irina Demina, a columnist for economic and industrial issues of “Republic of Tatarstan” newspaper attended an aviation holiday “I Opt for the Sky”, met and conversed with some of the participants of the holiday.
“I Opt for the Sky” holiday has rapidly become popular, showing mass scale. It is likely that many boys together with the girls eagerly wanted to become pilots or build crafts and helicopters. Sure enough, it took not only the children’s but also the adults’ breath away when a 110-tonne mid-haul TU-214OH jet liner went over their heads in hovering flight. At that, the craft was waggling its wings as if welcoming the “I Opt for the Sky” air show participants, totaling over 5,000 people that gathered together at Kurkachi Airfield, Vysokogorsky District of Tatarstan, just before the Russia’s Air Fleet day.

On 19 August 2013, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov attended the meeting between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation Alamgir Babar. During the meeting, President Minnikhanov informed Mr. Babar on the economic and industrial potential of Tatarstan and promising areas for bilateral cooperation.
The Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted the meeting between Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation Alamgir Babar to present the republic’s industrial potential and to discuss the issues of developing trade and economic cooperation.

On 17 August 2013, Kurkachi Airfield hosted the Aviation Holiday “I Opt for the Sky”. The opening ceremony was attended by Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade; Viktor Chernov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Public and State Organisation “Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Aviation and Fleet”; Rafis Gazizov, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of Vysokogorsky District; Nikolay Abrukov, Director of the Personnel Training Department at the United Aircraft Corporation; Alexander Bobryshev, Director General of Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association; Vadim Ligay, Director General of Kazan Helicopters Plant; Albert Gilmutdinov, Principal of Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University; Radik Khaliullin, Director of the Tatarstan Central Aeroclub; and Shavkat Umarov, Director of the Tatarstan Interregional Department of the Federal Air Transport Agency, honoured pilot of Russia.
In his welcoming speech addressed to participants of the Aviation Holiday “I Opt for the Sky”, Ravil Zaripov noted that Tatarstan is one of Russia’s regions with developed aircraft industry that is advancing its activities. In addition, the republic is home not only for major enterprises such as Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association and Kazan Helicopters, but also for enterprises assuring radio-electronic security and supplying radio appliances and other components for the aircraft industry.

On 17 August 2013, Kurkachi Airfield will host the Annual Aviation Festival “I Opt for the Sky” dedicated to the Russian Air Fleet Day.
The objective to hold the Festival is to propagate the aeronautics among people, to involve children and teenagers in aviation, as well as to conduct carrier guidance events and festivities for industry’s employees.
“I Opt for the Sky” Festival is expected to bring together over 5,000 people, including professionals of light and heavy aircraft, long-service employees of the aviation industry, students, and pupils.
The event will be attended by heads of ministries and agencies, top executives, and employees of major enterprises representing the republic’s aviation industry.
On 15 August 2013, within the programme of the Specialised Exhibitions “Intermebel” and Woodworking, JIHAZ 2013 Contest was held. The experts committee under the leadership of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade included officials from the Tatarstan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare in Tatarstan, and Test Tatarstan.
