Ravil Zaripov: “Aviation Holiday “I Opt for the Sky” showcases power of Tatarstan and Russia”

On 17 August 2013, Kurkachi Airfield hosted the Aviation Holiday “I Opt for the Sky”. The opening ceremony was attended by Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade; Viktor Chernov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Public and State Organisation “Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Aviation and Fleet”; Rafis Gazizov, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of Vysokogorsky District; Nikolay Abrukov, Director of the Personnel Training Department at the United Aircraft Corporation; Alexander Bobryshev, Director General of Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association; Vadim Ligay, Director General of Kazan Helicopters Plant; Albert Gilmutdinov, Principal of Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University; Radik Khaliullin, Director of the Tatarstan Central Aeroclub; and Shavkat Umarov, Director of the Tatarstan Interregional Department of the Federal Air Transport Agency, honoured pilot of Russia.
In his welcoming speech addressed to participants of the Aviation Holiday “I Opt for the Sky”, Ravil Zaripov noted that Tatarstan is one of Russia’s regions with developed aircraft industry that is advancing its activities. In addition, the republic is home not only for major enterprises such as Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association and Kazan Helicopters, but also for enterprises assuring radio-electronic security and supplying radio appliances and other components for the aircraft industry.
