On 7 April 2016, Brno (South Moravian Region, Czech Republic) hosted the Tatarstan-Czech Business Forum.
The Forum was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of the South Moravian Region Michal Hasek, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Brno Alexander Budaev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jiri Koliba, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, and representatives of Tatarstan and Czech business communities.
Memorandum of Cooperation between Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and Russian-Czech Mixed Chamber of Commerce was signed by Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Acting Vice Chairman of the Russian-Czech Mixed Chamber of Commerce Libor Trubelik.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was awarded a commemorative medal “90 Years of Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Czech Republic”.
On 7 April 2016, Brno (Czech Republic) hosted the extended meeting of the European Alliance of Tatars. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of the South Moravian Region Michal Hasek, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Brno Alexander Budaev, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov, members of the Tatarstan delegation, and representatives of Tatar communities, members of the European Alliance of Tatars living in EU countries.
The head of Tatarstan thanked activists of the Tatar communities for their activities. Rustam Minnikhanov handed over Letters of Gratitude of the Tatarstan President to the most active members of the European Alliance of Tatars.
On 7 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry of Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meetings between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and top executives of Czech companies.
In the course of the talks with representatives of Jihostroj a.s., the attendees discussed implementation of the project for production of hydraulic systems for motor vehicles and road construction machinery in Tatarstan. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov confirmed the republic`s interest in the project.
During the other meeting, representatives of Velka Bites and Simonov Design Bureau signed a cooperation agreement.
On 6 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov took part in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of the South Moravian Region Michal Hasek within the framework of the working visit of the Tatarstan delegation to the Czech Republic.
During the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Prague, the Embassy of Czech Republic in Moscow, and the administration of the South Moravian Region for the organisation of the visit.
On 7 April 2016, the Tatarstan-Czech Business Forum will take place in Brno (South Moravia, Czech Republic) within the visit of the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The Forum will be attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic Michal Hasek, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the Czech Republic Alexander Zmeyevski; Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jiri Koliba, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in CIS Member Countries Frantisek Masopust, and representatives of Tatarstan and Czech business communities.
In the course of the Tatarstan-Czech Business Forum, it is planned to sign a number of bilateral documents on economic and trade cooperation.
On 6 April 2016, the Kazan Optical and Mechanical Plant saw the official launch of the Stella-K production facilities involved in the manufacture of the advanced airborne defence system President-S against man-portable air-defence systems. The symbolic production start-up button was pressed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Yury Borisov, Director General of Concern Radio-Electronic Technology (KRET) Nikolai Kolesov, and Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Andrey Boginsky.
On 5 April 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with representatives of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Skolkovo Foundation.
The meeting was attended by Co-Chairman of the Skolkovo Advisory Scientific Council, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nobel Prize winner Zhores Alferov, Co-Chairman of the Skolkovo Advisory Scientific Council, Professor at Stanford University, Nobel Prize winner Roger D. Kornberg, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Fortov, and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the Republic of Tatarstan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with the Skolkovo Foundation.
On 3 April 2016, within the working visit to Manama (Kingdom of Bahrain), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with a representative of the Bahrain Royal Family, Sheikh Hamad ben Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
Sheikh Hamad ben Ibrahim Al Khalifa thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the visit and noted that Bahrain is interested in building strong bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan as one of the leading regions of the Russian Federation.
The parties discussed the issues of developing partnership relations in manufacturing industry, agro-industrial sector, culture, education and science, and tourism.
Within the framework of cooperation between Kazan Helicopters, Gymnasium No.8 and School No.54 of Kazan, the meetings took place between students and top executives of the enterprise. Memorable gifts were granted to the students who had won regional, municipal or republic academic competitions in mathematics and physics. Teachers who prepared the winners of the competitions were also awarded. A total of 111 students have finished the “helicopter” physics and mathematics school courses for the period of the joint activities under the trilateral agreement between the Kazan Helicopters, KNRTU-KAI, and Gymnasium No.8. Of these, 67 students have entered the KNRTU-KAI and now continue their targeted university programmes.
On 1 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov has chaired a meeting in the videoconference format with the representative offices of the Republic of Tatarstan abroad and in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by top officials of ministries, agencies, and public organisations of the republic.
During the meeting, participants discussed current activities of the Tatarstan’s representative offices in the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation and work with compatriots.
Albert Karimov has identified priority tasks and promising areas of further development for the representative offices of the Republic of Tatarstan.
