On 17 May 2016, a plenary session of the Tatar Republic`s Federation of Trade Union of Textile and Light Industry Workers was attended by representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tatarstan Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry, top executives and union workers of Tatarstan light industry enterprises.

On 17 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov has visited the ICL–KME CS plant that produces industrial electronics in the Usada rural area in Laishevo District.

The Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade has learnt about the production process and products of the plant.

On 17 May 2016, the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers hosted a briefing meeting following the visit of Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Austria.

At the beginning of the briefing meeting, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov congratulated the representatives of the Tatarstan media community on their upcoming professional holiday, the Day of Tatarstan Print Media.

Then the Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov briefed the participants on the results of visit of Tatarstan delegation to Austria.

On 17 May 2016, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade has hosted a meeting between Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and a number of France-based companies operating in various industries.

The meeting was attended by Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in France Iskander Yusupov, representatives of France-based companies in light aviation, pharmaceutics, information technologies, and e-commerce, and heads of departments of Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During the meeting, the parties have discussed promising areas for cooperation between France-based companies and enterprises of the republic.

On 16 May 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov chaired a meeting of the Council for Monitoring Situation in Turnover of Alcoholic and Alcohol-Containing Products in Tatarstan.

The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Vasil Shaykhraziyev, Secretary of the Tatarstan Security Council Ayrat Shafigullin, Chief of Staff of the Tatarstan President Asgat Safarov, Tatarstan Minister of Internal Affairs Artyom Khokhorin, Head of Tatarstan State Alcoholic Inspection Igor Marchenko, and representatives of ministries and agencies of the republic.

The Council meeting was held in the videoconference format with all Tatarstan municipalities.

On 12 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and activists of the Tatar community in Austria “Miras”. The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Austria Dmitry Lubinsky.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the members of the Tatar community “Miras” for maintaining Tatar culture, language, and traditions, as well as for their proactive attitude to life.

In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Austria, noted that to date it is important to enhance humanitarian cooperation and thanked the members of the “Miras” community for their diligence.

On 12 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Secretary General and Director of the UN Office in Vienna Yury Fedotov.

The meeting was held in the United Nations Office in Vienna. It was also attended by top officials of the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.

During the meeting, Russian Permanent Representative to International Organisations in Vienna Vladimir Voronkov noted that expertise gained by the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the UNIDO and other international organisations could be used by other regions of Russia.

On 13 May 2016, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting with veterans of war and long-service employees. Representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade congratulated them on the Victory Day and expressed their deep respect to those who heroically went through the war, won, and revived their native land after it.

On 12 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of the Federal Council of Austria (Chamber of Regions - the Upper Chamber of the Parliament) Josef Saller. The meeting was held in the historic building of the Austrian Parliament.

The parties discussed issues of further cooperation. In particular, Josef Saller said that soon he would pay a visit to Tatarstan as part of Austrian delegation.

On 12 May 2016, during the working lunch at the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stated that in spite of the existing politic and economic situation and sanctions, Tatarstan and Austria managed to keep good relations and business contacts, and continue to search for new ways for expanding their cooperation.

The working lunch was attended by General Secretary of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society Florian Stermann, President of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society and Vice-President of the Austrian Economic Chamber Richard Schenz, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, members of the Tatarstan delegation, and representatives of the Austrian business community.

Welcoming the participants of the working lunch, Florian Stermann noted that the close cooperation between Tatarstan and Austria led to joint projects and close contacts. “Our mission is to assist in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Austria,” he noted. He hopes that the working lunch will give an impetus to creation of the “road map” for further joint steps.
