On 23 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the 17th International Specialised Exhibition “Metalworking 2016” that is held at Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow. The exhibition “Metalworking 2016” (“Equipment, Instruments and Tools for the Metal-Working Industry”) is the main sectorial event in machine-tool building.

The exhibition is popular among leading international and Russian companies of the metalworking industry.

Representatives of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society headed by General Secretary Florian Stermann arrived to Kazan.

On 23 May 2016, the Tatarstan House of Government hosted the meeting between the delegation from the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

During the meeting, General Secretary of the Austrian-Russian Friendship Society Florian Stermann thanked the Tatarstan President for the hearty welcome in Kazan and expressed his confidence that relations between Tatarstan and Austria will strengthen, including entrepreneurship and business cooperation.

On 20 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov has participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and young diplomats from the OIC countries. The meeting was held in the Tatarstan House of Government.

The main topic of the Conference of Young Diplomats of the OIC countries is youth professional diplomacy.

Rustam Minnikhanov briefly informed the participants about the social and economic development of the region where representatives of various nationalities and faiths live in peace and harmony. According to him, peaceful coexistence and tolerance are the main riches and competitive advantage of Tatarstan.

On 20 May 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov has taken part in the plenary session of the 8th International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2016”.

During the plenary session some of the attendees have signed several agreements. Among them is the Agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, Naberezhnye Chelny municipality, and PAO Sberbank. The main direction is development of projects and programmes for residents of the territory of outstripping social and economic development in Naberezhnye Chelny.

On 20 May 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov during a business breakfast within the framework of the 8th International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2016” has stated that KazanSummit had become a place for meetings and open dialogues between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov has participated in the business breakfast as well.

On 19 May 2016, the Tatarstan Palace of Labour hosted a meeting between Tatarstan active trade unionists and Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.

The leader of the republic`s trade unions mentioned wages, grey labour market, and the income gap between poor and rich citizens among the issues that today cause serious concern and anxiety. “The issue of salary is a serious state task”, said the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On 19 May 2016, within the framework of ASEAN–Russia Business Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the session “Towards New Russia – ASEAN Economic Partnership: Essential Tools, Mechanisms, and Drivers of Growth” held in Sochi.

Rustam Minnikhanov praised the level of cooperation with Singapore. He thanked leaders of the Russian Federation and the ASEAN countries for their attention to the issues of cooperation development with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at the level of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Ministry of Defence will be the first to order new multipurpose Mi-38 helicopters produced at PAO Kazan Helicopters which belongs to Russian Helicopters holding company (part of Rostec State Corporation).

The Russian Ministry of Defence jointly with AO Russian Helicopters made a decision regarding the dates for Mi-38 helicopters to start service in the Russian Aerospace Forces.

On 18 May 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the ceremony of commissioning a unique testing facility. The event was attended by officials of federal and republic`s ministries, representatives of INVENT Group of Companies and Germany-based HIGHVOLT (which supplied required laboratorial equipment to Tatarstan).

Director of Tatkabel plant was bestowed the medal of the order “For Merits to the Republic of Tatarstan” for high achievements in his professional activities and long-term fruitful work.

The first launching built up a facility to 420 kV. In the future, it will be possible to produce and test cables with the capacity up to 700 kV.

On 18 May 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov examined the work progress at AO Transneft Kama Region. Its construction was started in July 2014.

The main activities have been completed. It is expected that by the end of August 2016 AO Transneft Kama will be commissioned.
