On October 21, the Korston Hotel &Mall in Kazan saw the 15th session of the Mixed Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation which was held by Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Novak and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. The parties discussed the progress in bilateral Russian-Turkish relations in the field of economy, trade, energy, industry, transport, agriculture, tourism, finance, banking, and in other areas.
In his speech, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Turkey today is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan with the total investment in the republic amounting to about $2 billion.
At the end of session, the following documents were signed:
1. Minutes of the 15th session of the Mixed Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation.
2. Memorandum of Cooperation between Dalaman Airport (YDA), Begishevo International Airport, and Anex Tour.
On October 19, the world’s best skills competitors was awarded at the Сlosing Ceremony of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017.
The Russian team won medals in 11 skills, including 6 gold medals, 4 silvers, and 1 bronze. In the Mobile Robotics, the participants Andrei Dubanov and Pavel Fadeyev from Tatarstan won two silver medals. In addition, a gold medal from the Tatarstan team was brought by Vadim Polyakov in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems.
As part of the closing ceremony, a video was shown featuring a presentation of Russia and the city of Kazan. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Olga Golodets delivered a welcoming speech from the Organising Committee of WorldSkills Kazan 2019, expressing gratitude to all the event organisers and inviting everyone to the 45th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan.
The Closing Ceremony of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 ended with the handover of the WorldSkills flag to the delegation of the Russian Federation. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government and Chairman of the Organising Committee Olga Golodets, Tatarstan President and Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee Rustam Minnikhanov, etc.
The POZIS Company held a two-day workshop for managers and experts of authorised service providers from Russian regions.
With the framework of the event, the participants heard reports from leading experts of POZIS technical services. They addressed the quality management issues, dwelling on innovative developments and changes in design of the company's products, specific features of performing a number of complex repairs in conditions of authorised service centres (ASC). During the workshop, a discussion was held between plant designers and service experts on the issue of improving the quality of products manufactured by POZIS.
The guests of the enterprise were also introduced to the full cycle of the refrigeration equipment production. At the end of the event, representatives of service centres were awarded training certificates in repair and maintenance of household appliances.
In accordance with the sub-programme “Development of Engineering Activities” of the Governmental Programme “Industrial Development and Enhancing Competitiveness”, the industrial enterprises of Tatarstan are granted an opportunity to receive state financial support for the purchase of engineering software with a special discount of up to 60% at the expense of the federal budget, as set forth by the Government Resolution No.1200 of November 14, 2014.
The programme grants the right to receive subsidies from the federal budget in order to reimburse some of the end user expenses for the purchase of special software used to automate the work at an industrial enterprise during the design and preproduction planning stages and (or) solve various engineering tasks, such as calculations, analysis and simulation of physical processes and production technology.
To be eligible, a company must meet the following criteria:
- average number of staff in the preceding calendar year no more than 250 persons;
- value of the user's revenues from sales of goods (works, services) in the preceding calendar year, less VAT, no more than RUB 2 billion;
- type of activities is related to design.
KAMAZ became the winner of the All-Russian Competition of Best Practices for Training Workers among enterprises and organisations. The career programme titled “Day of KAMAZ” was recognised as the best one in the category “From Vocational Choice to Successful Career”.
KAMAZ gained the status of a pilot platform, which will be supported to promote the Day of KAMAZ practices and the dissemination of experience. In addition, this vocational guidance programme is included in the Register of Best Practices for Training Workers.
The Days of KAMAZ focused on facilitating the career choice, expanding the horizons of students, exploring the opportunities at the largest Russian automotive factory are held in the schools of Naberezhnye Chelny since 2016. A vocational guidance programme launched at the initiative of Aleksandr Ushenin, Deputy General Director of KAMAZ for Personnel Management and Organisational Development, was implemented within a short time by the company’s Corporate University jointly with the factory personnel support units.
Participation in educational festivals is anticipated from students of grades 1-11, while their format is chosen taking into account their age characteristics and expectations.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia announces the opening of applications for a federal industry professional contest “TOP 10 of 2017”, aimed at identifying the best samples of light industry products.
The contest is held within the framework of assistance to the strategic development of Russia’s light industry enterprises in the production of competitive products; promoting ideas of quality, environmental friendliness, and safety for solving the problems of ensuring the corporate image, the competitiveness of products, as well as motivating the search and public support of positive processes for improving the quality and safety of products at light industry enterprises and organisations.
Applications for the contest will be accepted until November 6, 2017. The winners of the competition will be determined from the shortlist of nominees based on the preliminary selection of goods (products) in the period from November 7 to November 20, 2017.

The award ceremony will be held within the framework of the 4th All-Russian Light Industry Forum of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in November 2017.
KMPO hosted the annual professional skills contest among young people, which was attended by motor-builders under the age of 35, as well as students of the KNITU-KAI and the Kazan Aircraft Engineering College. In total, 65 contestants competed for the right to be called professionals.
The participants could show their professional knowledge and skills, both practical and theoretical, in the following categories: Turner, Electrician, Process Engineer, and Design Engineer (design and computer graphics).
The contestants’ performance was evaluated by a jury consisting of KMPO managers and experts. The winners received prizes and memorable diplomas, as well as the right to represent the company at the city and republic’s professional skills contests.

From October 31 to November 4, the International Fashion Forum will be held in St. Petersburg.
The International Fashion Forum is an event within a comprehensive programme titled “St. Petersburg as a Centre of Light Industry and Fashion”, aimed at cooperation between the community of designers and production sites. The aim of the Forum is to create a platform for the development of light industry and fashion industry in Russia.
The forum will be attended by leading Russia’s and foreign fashion experts, domestic and European stellar designers, manufacturers, key executives of retail companies, potential investors, and talented couturiers and designers.
The Forum programme is expected to comprise many events, consisting of four thematic sections: a conference with the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and key industry figures, accelerator and contest for young designers, an extensive cultural and entertainment programme, and an exhibition and fair of garments made by young Russian designers.
At the conference, the participants will discuss support measures for fashion industry enterprises, the concept of creating an incubator, and a roadmap for the St. Petersburg as a Centre of Light Industry and Fashion Project.

On October 13-14, on the premises of the House of Folk Art in Nizhnekamsk, the regional stage of the “Our Time - Beznen Zaman” Festival was held. The festival was attended by representatives of 35 organisations and enterprises (144 participants) from 8 municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan: Nizhnekamsky, Yelabuzhsky, Mamadyshsky, Chistopolsky, Sarmanovsky, Zainsksky, Alkeyevsky, and Aksubaevsky.
The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Alexey Savelchev.
The winners of the regional stage were the teams of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, MKU Board of Education at the Executive Committee of Zainsky Municipal District, and MKU Board of Education at the Executive Committee of the Mamadyshsky Municipal District of Tatarstan.
As a result of the regional stage, the winners are invited to take part in the Super Finals of the Festival to be held on November 15-16 in the Concert Hall of the Volga Academy of Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The gala concert of the winners will be held on November 18 in the Pyramid Cultural and Entertainment Complex.
The Alabuga Special Economic Zone, for the third time running, was named the best free zone for large tenants in Europe according to fDi Intelligence, a reputable international magazine. This Financial Times edition annually publishes the ranking of the best free zones around the world, and the SEZ Alabuga won the title of “The Best Free Zone in Europe for Large Tenants” in 2015, 2016, and in 2017.
The authors of the ranking noted the achievements of Alabuga in 2016, the expansion of its infrastructure through the acquisition of Yelabuga CHPP and the Alabuga City Hotel. In addition, the SEZ Alabuga Management Company currently provides services for the construction of premises for rent in accordance with investor requirements, on a build-to-suit basis.
The ranking's list of Russia’s special economic zones also comprises the Titanium Valley as the best SEZ for metal industries. The SEZ Togliatti is included in the list of the special zones “worthy of attention”. The SEZ Lipetsk has become one of the sites distinguished “for the expansion of existing production facilities”, and the SEZ Alabuga is also mentioned in this list for the construction of Phase Two of the Hayat Kimya facilities.
