Today, the Ford Sollers plant in Naberezhnye Chelny saw the production launch ceremony of the renewed Ford EcoSport vehicle.
The event attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, President at Ford of Europe, Middle East and Africa Steven Armstrong, Vice President at Ford of Europe for Joint Ventures, Alliances and Commercial Affairs Birgit Berendt, and President of Ford Sollers JV Adil Shirinov.
The small SUV of the new generation features an updated exterior, a fundamentally new interior, set of power units, as well as additional equipment.
The production of Ford EcoSport in Russia began in December 2014. The small SUV was the first model to enter production of the newly opened Ford Sollers plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. Since the start of Ford EcoSport sales in Russia, almost 17,000 vehicles have already been sold.
Today, pursuant to instructions by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan and Head of the Office of the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Shamil Gafarov, a training was conducted to evacuate the employees from the Ministry’s buildings in order to implement training activities for the Ministry's staff in safe work behaviour in the event of a fire or other emergencies.
From 3 to 6 October 2018, Moscow will host the Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum Russian Energy Week.
Within the framework of the REW Forum, the Russian Ministry of Energy organises the 4th MediaTEK All-Russian Contest for the Media, Energy Sector Press Services, and Regional Administrations. The contest is held at the regional and federal levels.
In the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan is the authorised body for holding the regional stage of the Contest.
The submissions to the MediaTEK Contest are projects and journalistic works published in mass media or implemented in the period from September 1, 2017 to August 20, 2018. The regional stage of the MediaTEK Contest seeks the participation of mass media outlets, journalists, and press-services (PR departments) of fuel and energy sector companies.
On May 28-29, a delegation of the State Assembly - Kurultay of Bashkortostan was on a working visit to Tatarstan.
As part of the visit, the delegation made a tour of the KAI-Laser (regional engineering centre for industrial laser technologies), the KAPO-Composite, the Kazan Aircraft Plant (branch of PAO Tupolev), and the Kazan Helicopters.
In addition, the Kazan Helicopters hosted a round table discussion on the topic “Prospects for Cooperation between Aircraft Industry Enterprises at the New Technology Platform 4.0 on the Example of Enterprises in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan” with the participation of Tatarstan State Council deputies Marat Galeyev, Vadim Ligay, Kamil Sadriev and Marat Shagitov, and the Kurultay deputies Rashit Khayrullin and Sergey Pavlov.
From public authorities, the event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Minister of Industry and Innovation Policies of Bashkortostan Aleksey Karpukhin, Aide to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, and Chairman of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageyev.
Having discussed the current state of affairs in the sphere of aircraft sector development, the round table participants noted that aircraft construction is the most important industry in view of its high importance for the development of a competitive and innovative economy of the country.
Today, the House of Tatarstan Government hosted a briefing for discussing the results of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2018).
The briefing was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information and Communications of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov, and Tatarstan Minister of Economy Farid Abdulganiev.
At the SPIEF, the delegation of Tatarstan headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in 40 official meetings. Members of the Tatarstan delegation met with representatives of regional public authorities from Russia and a number of foreign countries, as well as with top executives of foreign and Russian companies.
Within the SPIEF 2018, a total of 550 investment agreements were signed for an aggregate amount of RUR 2.3 trillion.
Albert Karimov dwelled on a number of meetings important for the Tatarstan economy, such as the one with His Highness Sheikh Salman Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa (Bahrain), Director General of Saint-Gobain in Russia Erwan Dupuy, as well as a number of signed documents.
Minister Karimov also talked about the meetings held within the scope of competence of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Today, Naberezhnye Chelny saw a ceremony of laying the first stone to the factory of Haier Laundry Machine Rus, the second investment project of the Chinese-based Haier after the refrigerator production facility opened in Tatarstan in 2016.
From the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the event was attended by Deputy Minister German Lerner.
The factory will become the first resident of the industrial park to be established by this Chinese manufacturer of household appliances. Investments in the park will total about $1 billion.
A distinctive feature of the new factory will be high-tech equipment and cutting-edge technologies. The expected capacity of the future facility is half a million of laundry machines a year; 385 new jobs will be created. The laundry machine factory will produce household appliances in the mid-price and mid-to-high price segments.
The first line launch is scheduled for 2019.
On May 28-30, the Tatarstan delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev is on a working visit to Tomsk.
The delegation comprises Head of the Tyulyachinsky District Ildus Zaripov, representatives from the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, PAO KAMAZ, OOO TagraS-EnergoService, OOO RariTEK, the Almetyevsk Radiopribor Plant, the Kazan Research Institute of Aviation Technologies, and the KNRTU-KHTI.
The Tatarstan delegation had a meeting in the Tomsk Regional Administration with Tomsk Region deputy governors Igor Shaturny, Andrey Antonov, and Lyudmila Ogorodova with the purpose of discussing promising areas of cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations.
During the visit, the delegation will make a tour of some enterprises in the Tomsk Oblast, such as TEMZ, Novokhim, Tomsk Industrial Park, SEZ, Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk, Regional Road Maintenance and Construction Board, Tomsk Electronic Company, EleSi, Mikran, Technology Market, and Tomsk universities.
Submissions for participation in the first stage of the strategic initiative Personnel of Tomorrow for Russia’s Regions are accepted till June 1, 2018.
According to it, talented school students aged 14 to 17 from seven regions of Russia will become the project’s participants.
The main goal of the project is forming regional leadership groups from talented and highly motivated children, youth, and their mentors (“regional development teams”). During the implementation of the initiative, it is planned to develop and statutorise mechanisms for motivated talent consolidation in participating regions (the vocational guidance system for children and youth, deferred employment contracts, employer-sponsored education, internships and training, dual education, etc.).
The initiative will be implemented in 4 phases. Phase one presupposes a competitive selection contest Focus of Attention, which will result in the list of project participants from seven regions of Russia. The second phase includes three-day study at the Governor School where students will acquire project activity skills. The formation of mentoring pairs will follow the selection of the best participants. The third phase is the implementation of individual programmes. This will provide the participants with real project activity experience. The last phase is presentation of the completed projects in international children’s centres within the framework of the all-Russian Mentor Forum.
The main organiser of this project is the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).
On May 24 and 25, the delegation from Tatarstan headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The delegation comprised heads of republic’s ministries, agencies and enterprises of Tatarstan. The Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade was represented by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of innovation.
Also, the Tatarstan President took part in signing a number of cooperation documents.
A special investment contract was signed between KAMAZ and Daimler KAMAZ RUS. The contract is aimed at developing the production of new cab frames at the KAMAZ plant jointly with Daimler.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim entered into a long-term loan agreement under the insurance policy of Euler Hermes in the amount of EUR 807 million for the period until the end of 2032.
On 25 May, a special investment contract (SPIC) was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum aimed at developing a model range of KAMAZ and Mercedes-Benz vehicles and retrofitting the facilities for their production and being implemented by KAMAZ and Daimler KAMAZ RUS jointly with Daimler AG.
The document was signed by Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeyev, Director General of Daimler KAMAZ RUS Andreas Deuschle, and Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin.
The SPIC mechanism was entered by the Federal Law No. 488-FZ of December 31, 2014 On Industrial Policies in the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the SPIC implementation, a high-tech plant for welding and painting cab frames is being created, based on an industrial building built by KAMAZ. The plant facilities will be engaged in welding and painting of cab frames for KAMAZ and Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
The investment amount will total RUB 46.4 billion; the contract period is 10 years.
