In honour of its round-figure anniversary, the University organised a special press tour with the participation of representatives from city’s and republic’s mass media.
The Kazan branch of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute was opened on July 18, 1968. During its half-century history, many things have changed: now, KSPEU has four institutes with 474 teachers and 9826 students, the number of foreign trainees has increased to 350 a year; the University boasts of 29 scientific centres and thematic research laboratories.
Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a tripartite meeting between Minister Albert Karimov, the executives of GIPROIV and SEZ IPT Alabuga. During the meeting, Executive Director Konstantin Kharisov and Director for Strategic Development Aleksey Sinko presented the capabilities of AO GIPROIV.
GIPROIV has experience in conceptual engineering, cooperation with leading European, American, and Asian engineering companies, expertise in turnkey construction of industrial facilities under EPCM contracts.
In Tatarstan, the company carried out general design activities and on-site designer supervision of the construction and installation works of the Alabuga-Fibre plant for the production of hydrocarbon fibres based on PAN precursor.
The company is currently developing design and work documentation for the construction of a present-day PAN precursor facility to be located in the SEZ IPT Alabuga.
The sides exchanged views on the potential for further cooperation, established working contacts, identified new points of mutual growth and interests.
The Supervisory Board of the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) recently approved the August-Alabuga project of arranging the production of plant protection products, as well as polymer containers for packing them.
The August-Alabuga company (a resident of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone and a subsidiary of the AO Firma August, one of the leaders in the Russian market of plant protection products), intends to organise, with the use of the IDF loan, the environmentally friendly production of proprietary plant protection products. The production capacity is expected at 15.8 million litres per year and a polymer package production will be 5 million cans per year, with a future increase in the production capacity up to 30 million litres per year.
The project is aimed at implementing the import substitution programme in the agrochemical sector by increasing the domestic production of chemical plant protection products in the Russian Federation. Implementation of the project would contribute to attracting direct investment to Tatarstan, creating more than 300 new jobs, and increasing business activity and competitiveness of the domestic economy.
The delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Ngo Duc Manh had a meeting with officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade within the framework of the delegation’s visit to Tatarstan.
The meeting was held with a view to developing and strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, the greatest interest was expressed in new oil refining and petrochemical technologies used in Tatarstan, shipbuilding and aircraft industry products, as well as IT industry and sports.
In the next days of the visit, the Vietnamese delegation planned to see a number of major industrial enterprises, such as Kazan Helicopters, Zelenodolsk Shipyard, and Himgrad.
For reference: The foreign trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia in 2017 amounted to $3.6 billion, of which Russia’s exports were $1.4 billion. In the first half of 2018, the volume of Russia’s exports to Vietnam was about $1.1 billion, which accounts for almost the entire exports of 2017.
On July 17, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade held its regular meeting of the Commission on Observance of Requirements to Professional Conduct of Public Civil Servants and Resolving of Conflicts of Interest.
The meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov considered issues on introducing additions to the list of positions associated with corruption risks; notification of commercial and other organisations on the conclusion of employment contracts with the citizens who have previously held various positions of the Tatarstan’s civil service in the ministry, as well as other issues.
On July 14, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov visited the Nuclear Centre located in Snezhinsk (Chelyabinsk Oblast) as part of the Tatarstan’s government delegation. The All-Russian Research Institute of Technical Physics is one of the world's leading nuclear centres. It was founded in 1955.
During the visit, the delegates visited the radiopharmaceutical plant, the laser technology centre, the neuronal therapy centre, and the nuclear weapons museum. The officials from Tatarstan highly appreciated the works of the centre and the developments implemented there. Of particular interest were the process development for a dynamic impact on productive oil reservoirs and the digital transformation opportunity based on domestic solutions when building a digital enterprise.
The visit was organised within the framework of the agreement signed early this year with the Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation.
Last weekend, a beach volleyball tournament among youth teams of republic’s enterprises was held at the Beach Sports Centre of Kazan. The event was held for the second consecutive year; this year, it was attended by 19 teams from 13 major enterprises.
Weather conditions contributed to the successful holding of the tournament, the participants of the competitions managed to show real sporting behaviour and fighting team spirit.
Winners were awarded commemorative medals and diplomas from the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting of the interdepartmental flight organising commission to examine projects of the demonstration flights to be conducted during the “I Opt for the Sky!” aviation festival.
Held since 2012, the airshow titled “I Opt for the Sky!” annually gathers tens of thousands of visitors, including professionals and experts of small and large aviation, long-service employees of the aircraft industry, students of aviation specialties, schoolchildren, residents and guests of Kazan, as well as all those who are not indifferent to aviation.
In order to popularise aviation among the population and to hold a professional celebration event for the industry's specialists, the “I Opt for the Sky!” aviation festival will be held on August 10, 2018 in the area near the Kazan Family Centre (over the water area of the Kazanka River from the Leninskaya Dam to the Millennium Bridge).

On July 12, the Zelenodolsk Shipyard hosted the ceremony of laying down the twelfth small-size missile ship of Project 21631 “Stavropol” (developed by the Zelenodolsk Design Office). The event took place with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia Aleksey Krivoruchko, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, representatives of the Ak Bars Holding and Shipbuilding Corporation, and other officials.
The small-size missile ships of Project 21631, being built since 2010 for the Russian Navy, are multi-purpose river-sea vessels equipped with the most advanced weapons. The ships of this project are dedicated to the protection and defence of national economic zones.
It should be noted that five more ships of Project 21631 are under construction to date at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard.
