In terms of socio-economic development, the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the leaders among Russian regions. At the same time, current economic growth rates seem unacceptable. All available reserves should be engaged, including the attraction and implementation of large investment projects, increase in production efficiency and business activity, and expansion of commodity market presence.
The round date was marked by the opening of an innovative technopark; Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated the academic community together with the principal of KSPEU. The Prime Minister wished new success in solving all tasks at the highest level and noted that 50 years of activities is an impressive date backed by hard work of hundreds of teachers and successful practice of tens of thousands of graduates.
In half a century, the university has graduated more than 50,000 professionals, with most of them working at country's energy market facilities. According to the Principal, KSPEU graduates have among them outstanding scientists, practitioners, heads of leading enterprises in Tatarstan and Russia, who make a huge contribution to the development of the country's economy.
The KSPEU Technology Park is a new science and technology facility of non-classical type, since it comprises technical, innovation, and educational centres. The youth business incubator works here, which this year is implementing the Russian-Chinese Youth Business Incubator international project. The event also featured the award ceremony of outstanding teachers, heads of departments and scientists of the Kazan State Power Engineering University. A total of 11 people received state awards and honorary titles.
AO POZIS, a part of the Tecmash Concern (Rostec Corporation), saw the opening ceremony of the Centre for Special Machine Building.
The creation of this facility resulted from the implementation of the reconstruction and technical re-equipment project at POZIS with a total value of more than RUB4 billion. The project was launched in 2011 within the framework of the Federal Targeted Programme for the Defence Industry Complex Development until 2020.
The POZIS Centre for Special Machine Building employs advanced high-tech equipment that makes it possible to concentrate a complete automated cycle of highly efficient full-scale production of special products.
The opening ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, and other officials.
