On October 5, the employees at the Ford Sollers plant in Yelabuga celebrated their professional holiday, the Mechanical Engineer’s Day. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev, President of Ford Sollers JV Adil Shirinov, Deputy Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Ayrat Shamsiev, and Head of the Executive Committee of the Yelabuga District Rinat Khairullin.

In his welcoming speech, Ildar Mingaleyev said: “Five models of Ford vehicles are fully made today by the company in the territory of our republic. We know well the company's products, including special purpose vehicles, which are in wide demand throughout Tatarstan and Russia in general. It is gratifying to note that under current conditions in the automotive market, Ford Sollers is successfully implementing its strategy for developing the product line of its vehicles”.

As part of the Mechanical Engineer’s Day celebrations, the best employees were awarded diplomas and letters of appreciation from the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Head of the Yelabuga Municipal District, the heads of the Ford Sollers JV and the Yelabuga Factory.

Today, Russian Minister of Energy Aleksandr Novak, Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Inyutsyn, Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinsky, Russian Minister of Construction and Housing Vladimir Yakushev visited the united exhibition display of Tatarstan at REN 2018. The region was presented by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov.

The stand at the International Forum represents a single conceptual display consisting of four thematic sections, namely Energy Complex; Energy Efficiency; Oil Production, Processing, Chemicals; Gas Infrastructure.

The stand features presentations by major Republic’s enterprises, such as Tatenergo, Grid Company, Tatneft, TAIF, etc., industry’s current status and key indicators, as well as interesting facts about the industry and energy efficiency in the region, demonstrators of enterprises, unique samples of products, scientific developments.

The REN’s last day will see the Youth Day to be attended by teachers and students of the Kazan State Power Engineering University. The REN 2018’s Youth Day #VmesteYarche is the main youth event in the field of energy efficiency and energy development, where the best young representatives of the fuel and energy sector and the SMEs gather for a dialog with representatives of industry organisations and leading experts.

On October 24-25, 2018, with the support from the Federal Customs Service, the International Customs Forum will be held for the first time, as a new format for the annual specialised exhibition “Customs Service” held since 1999. The Forum will be hosted by the World Trade Centre in Moscow.

The key mission of the Forum is to create an effective platform for the exchange of experience, interaction between government authorities and the business community aimed at developing the external economy. A distinctive feature of the Forum will be a rich business programme (sessions, round tables, master classes and presentations) to discuss current problems in the development of foreign economic activities, improvement of customs administration, export support, and other topics. In addition, the Forum will present an extensive interactive displays and exhibition booths, which will demonstrate the present-day capabilities of the Russian Federal Customs Service, financial and logistical structures.

The event will involve the participation of top officials from the Russian Federation Government, heads of federal ministries and agencies, customs authorities of foreign countries, international organisations (WTO, World Customs Organisation, World Bank, Eurasian Economic Commission), societal organisations (Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Opora Russia All-Russian NGO for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, Business Russia All-Russian Public Organisation), foreign trade-focused unions and associations, major Russian and foreign companies.

Today was Day One of the Russian Energy Week 2018. The day was very intense; the business programme for the Tatarstan delegation began with business meetings and closed negotiations. Further on, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov spoke at a panel discussion on petrochemicals, noting that “The petrochemical sector is the development point for the republic, the plans of Tatarstan for the implementation of new investment programmes that need infrastructure support, I believe, will be supported by the Russian Federation Ministry of Finance”.

Then, two agreements were signed. The first one was concluded between Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Deutche Bank AG on construction of a CCGT unit (TPP) for Nizhnekamskneftekhim with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Director General of TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, and other officials.

The second agreement on cooperation between TAIF and OOO Siemens was signed in the presence of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of Siemens AG Joe Kaeser, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and others. The new document is a supplement to and continuation of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between the parties, which will expand cooperation in the field of procurement.

On Monday, a ceremonial event was held in Nizhnekamsk Lyceum No. 14 timed to coincide with the celebrations of the International Day of Older Persons.

A concert programme was organised for WWII veterans and homefront workers under the title of the “Celebration of Life and Wisdom”. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev made a welcoming speech at the event, wishing good health, attention and care from relatives and friends to all veterans and stressing the importance of transferring experience and mentoring for the young generation.

The event was attended by representatives of the district administration, the teaching staff of the Lyceum, activists of the Leader youth organisation. The guard of honour by Young Army cadets, retro accompaniment, escort from the porch to the assembly hall – all this added solemnity and warmth to the event. Smiles and greetings raised the spirits and made the day even more memorable.

The foyer of the Lyceum’s ground floor hosted an exhibition of handicrafts titled “Gifts of Autumn”, which left no one indifferent. The second floor was decorated with a photo gallery of veterans, homefront workers and children of war, with pictures from different years.

Preparations is being completed today for the displays of the largest global energy companies and regional exhibition installations for the Russian Energy Week 2018 International Forum to be held in Moscow on October 3 to October 6, 2018.

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed his participation in the plenary meeting of the REN International Forum on October 3. The plenary session topic is “Sustainable Energy for a Changing World”.

The government delegation from Tatarstan will be headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and is composed of Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Head of TIDA Taliya Minullina, CEOs, experts and professionals of major enterprises in the republic’s fuel and energy sector.

Within the framework of the International Forum, important industry-specific Agreements are expected to be signed for the region; republic’s top officials will attend plenary sessions and high-level meetings.

The mission of the Russian Energy Week 2018 is to demonstrate the prospects of the Russian fuel and energy industry and unlock the potential of international cooperation in energy.

Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting with a member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, Deputy Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Russia Lord John Desmond Waverley. The meeting was attended by Deputy Trade Representative of Russia in the UK Aleksandr Rumyantsev, as well as representatives of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the Tatarstan Export Corporation, and the Tatarstan Ministry of Information and Communications. The meeting was held by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner.

Lord Waverley presented in detail all the options and opportunities for cross-border trade: “The basis for SupplyFinder is the business needs of the global economy, small and medium-sized businesses. SupplyFinder provides free market access and brings together industry professionals with key partners”.

The parties agreed on further interaction. After the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Lord Waverley went to meet Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Today, Minister Karimov visited the city of Magnitogorsk (Chelyabinsk Oblast) as part of the delegation from the Tatarstan Government and representatives of Tatarstan enterprises. The delegation was headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. During the visit, the delegates made a tour of a Russian production giant in the field of steel industry, the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. They saw Blast Furnace No.1; watched the thick sheet rolling at Mill 5000; visited Sheet-Rolling Workshop No. 11 (Mill 2000). The products of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works are basically supplied in the form of coiled steel and sheets of rolled metal to the mechanical engineering enterprises of Tatarstan.

During the visit, Minister Karimov also took part in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chelyabinsk Oblast Governor Boris Dubrovsky. The Chelyabinsk Oblast is currently among the leading partners of Tatarstan in interregional trade and economic relations. Cooperation is developing based on the Plan for Implementation of the Agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chelyabinsk Oblast for 2018-2020.

Last working week in St. Petersburg saw the 20th International Forestry Forum, the largest congress business event in the Russia's timber industry complex, which annually brings together leading companies from all areas of the timber industry in Russia and foreign countries. The main topics for discussion were the implementation of the Forest Strategy 2030, as approved by the Executive Order of the Russian Federation Government No. 1989-r of September 20, 2018, and the introduction of export quotas for birch wood from December 1, 2018 to May 1, 2019 (pursuant to the Resolution of the Russian Federation Government No. 836 of July 17, 2018). From the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Forum was attended by Head of Timber and Light Industry Dept. Guzel Khisamutdinova.

During plenary sessions, forest industry experts and professionals discussed the industry’s development trends, current challenges, and growth points. On September 27, a round table discussion was held on the topic “Development of Panel and Plywood Industry”, where the Director General of Kastamonu in the SEZ Alabuga, Ali Kılıç, acted as an expert. He spoke about the greening of the woodworking market through the example of the Kastamonu facility in Tatarstan.

Dear current and retired employees of the mechanical engineering sector! On behalf of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, please accept my warmest congratulations on your professional holiday, the Mechanical Engineer’s Day!

Mechanical engineering is an important component of the global economy, a qualitative indicator of the country’s development level, the basic element of strategic security and sustainability. The sector is one of the first to create and introduce the latest developments, high technology, to develop intellectual potential.

Today, the mechanical engineering sector of Tatarstan is composed of over 3000 enterprises, of which 150 are large ones, with more than 120,000 employees in total.

It is worth noting the contribution of each employee to the development of the republic’s mechanical engineering sector, whose professionalism and devotion to their profession are the key to the industry’s success, contribute to the quality of products and strengthen the credibility of our companies in the global market. It is also important to remember retired employees who are an example of strong work ethic and loyalty to their enterprises.
